27、equently overprintedwith the applicable camouflage colors. When the ground shape is coloredto match the light green 354, the woodland camouflage pattern shall beobtained by roller or automatic screen printing using three rollers orscreens, as appropriate for the dark green 355, brown 356, and black
28、357areas of the pattern. If the ground shade is colored to approximatelight green 354, four rollers or screens shall be used to match therequired pattern. Resin bonded pigments are not permitted.3.2.12.3 Class 2, Type 7: The cloth shall be colored to a ground shade eithermatching or approximating li
29、ght tan 492 and subsequently overprintedwith the applicable desert camouflage colors. When the ground shade iscolored to match the light tan 492, the desert camouflage pattern shallbe obtained by roller or automatic screen printing using two rollers orscreens as appropriate for the light brown 493 a
30、nd light khaki 494 areasof the pattern. If the ground shade is colored to approximate the lighttan 492, three rollers or screens shall be used to match the requiredpattern. Resin bonded pigments are not permitted.3.2.12.4 Matching: The color of the finished cloth shall match the standardsample under
31、 artificial daylight having a correlated color temperatureof 7000 K 500 (13,000 F 900) and shall be a good approximation tothe standard sample under incandescent lamplight at 2800 K 100(5400 F 180).3.2.12.5 Colorfastness: The dyed and finished cloth shall show colorfastness tolight and to laundering
32、 equal to or better than the standard sample.3.2.13 Width: Shall be not less than 45 inches (1143 mm) inclusive of theselvages. When the cloth has shuttleless loom selvages. the width of thecloth should be as specified and shall not be less than the wiwoven cloth, excluding the selvages.3.2.14 Nonfi
33、brous Material: Prior to application of an antistatic fcloth shall contain not more than 1.0% starch and protein incchloroform-soluble and water-soluble materials, determined inwith FED-STD-191, Method 2611.dth of thenish, theuding theaccordance3.2.15 Finishing: Cloth shall be desized, scoured, and
34、heat set to meet therequirements of Table 2.3.2.16 Curling: The finished cloth shall lie flat, without distortion, and showno evidence of curling, determined in accordance with 4.5.1.3.3 Quality:Cloth, as received by purchaser, shall be evenly woven, and free from foreignmaterials and from imperfect

36、erfections as defined in FED-STD-4. The cloth shall not contain morethan an average of 50 demerit points per 100 square yards (84 m2) whenexamined and scored in accordance with 4.5.2.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection:The manufacturer of cloth shall supply all samples
37、for required tests andshall be responsible for all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right tosample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensurethat the cloth conforms to the requirements of this specification.4.2 Classification of Tests:4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Breaking st
38、rength (3.2.4), tearing strength (3.2.5), airpermeability (3.2.6), flame resistance (3.2.7), and quality (3.3) areacceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: All technical requirements are preproduction testsand shall be performed prior to or on the initial shipmen
39、t of cloth to apurchaser, when a change in ingredients and/or processing requiresreapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to berequired.4.3 Sampling and Testing:(R)Shall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient cloth shall be taken at random from eachlot to p
40、erform all required tests. The number of determinations for eachrequirement shall be as specified in the applicable test procedure or, ifnot specified therein, not less than three.4.3.1.1 A lot shall be all cloth produced in a single production run under thesame fixed conditions and presented for ma
41、nufacturers inspection at onetime.4.3.1.2 The sample unit shall be 5 continuous yards (4.6 m), full width of thefinished cloth. Lot size shall be expressed in units of 1 yard (0.9 m).The lot shall be unacceptable if one or more sample units fail to meetany specified requirement. Sample size shall be

44、all be acceptab4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Sample cloth shall be approved by purchaseris supplied, unless such approval be waivedbefore cloth for production useby purchaser. Results of testson production cloth shall be essentially equivalent to those on approvedsample.4.4.2 Manufacturer shall use ingredients
45、, manufacturing procedures, processes,and methods of inspection on production cloth which are essentially thesame as those used on the approved sample. If necessary to make any changein ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in manufacturingprocedures, manufacturer shall submit for rea
46、pproval a statement of theproposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested,sample cloth. Production cloth made by the revised procedure shall not beshipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Test Methods:4.5.1 Curling: Two specimens of cloth, l-1/2 by 6 inches (38.1 by 152 mm) s
47、hallbe cut, one having the long dimension parallel to the filling and the otherwith the long dimension parallel to the warp. Both specimens shall beplaced on a flat surface for at least five minutes and visually examinedfor evidence of curling.4.5.2 Yard-by-Yard (Meter-by-Meter) Examination: Each ro
48、ll in the sample shallbe examined on the face side only. When the total length of the roll doesnot exceed 100 yards (91 m), the entire roll shall be examined. When thetotal length on the roll exceeds 100 yards (91 m), only 100 yards (91 m)shall be examined. All imperfections, as defined in FED-STD-4
49、,Section III, which are visible at normal inspection distance of 3 feet(0.9 m) shall be scored and assigned demerit points as listed in 4.5.2.4except as follows:4.5.2.1 Only coarse yarns that exceed twice the normal yarn diameter shall bescored.4.5.2.2 Mixed filling (shade bar) shall be scored only when resulting from wrongplay, wrong twist in the yarn, or off shade yarn.Copyright SAE International Provided b
