M Issued 1942-12 Revised 2014-11 Superseding AMS4025L Aluminum Alloy, Sheet and Plate 1.0Mg - 0.60Si - 0.28Cu - 0.20Cr (6061-O) Annealed (Composition similar to UNS A96061) RATIONALE AMS4025M removes T42 capability testing and revises Composition (3.1.1)

2、, Properties (3.3.1), Acceptance Tests (4.2.1), Periodic Tests (4.2.2), and Reports (4.4.1), and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate from 0.006 to 3.000 inches (0.15 to 76.20 mm) in thick

3、ness, inclusive(See 8.4). 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts where moderate formability and response to solution and precipitation heat treatment are required, but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents i

4、n effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has be

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Shall conform to the percentages by weight as shown in Table 1, determined in accordance with AMS2355. TABLE 1 - COMPOSITIO

15、 listed in the “International Alloy Designations and Chemical Composition Limits for Wrought Aluminum and Wrought Aluminum Alloys”(known as the “Teal Sheets”), the composition limits registered with the Aluminum Association and published in the “Teal Sheets” shall be the controlling composition. 3.2

16、 Condition Annealed in accordance with AMS2772. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4025M Page 3 of 6 3.3 Properties 3.3.1 Mechanical property requirements for product outside of the range covered by 1.1 shall be agreed upon between purchaser and producer. The product shall conform to the following requirements, d

21、ter equal to the bend factor shown in Table 3 times the nominal thickness of the product with axis of bend parallel to the direction of rolling. 23、 have the properties of 3.3.3.1 and 3.3.3.2, after solution heat treatment and artificial aging to the T62 temper (See AS1990) in accordance with AMS2772. 3.3.3.1 Tensile Properties in the T62 Temper Shall be as shown in Table 4. 29、rm in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4025M Page 5 of 6 3.5 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of.ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Respons

30、ibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to speci

31、fied requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.2.1), after solution heat treatment and artificial aging (3.3.3.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.

32、2 Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (3.3.2.2) and after solution heat treatment and aging (3.3.3.2) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.

33、4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report that the product conforms to the composition requirements and tolerances and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report sha

34、ll include the purchase order number, inspection lot number, AMS4025M, size and quantity. The report shall include the identity of the producer and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect. 4.5

35、Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purc

36、haser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.2.2 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging,

ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall include this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not con

38、forming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
