35、t Specimens: Specimens machined from separately-forged coupons or from forging stock representing the forgings and, in either case, heat treated with the forgings shall have the properties shown in Table 6. 37、126C AMS 4126C 3.3.2 Stock for Forging or Rolled Rings: When a sample of stock is forged to a test coupon and heat treated in the same manner as forgings and rolled rings, specimens taken from the heat treated coupon shall conform to the requirements of 3.3.1.1.5. If specimens taken from the stock p
38、rior to forging and after heat treatment in the same manner as forgings and rolled rings conform to the requirements of 3.3.1.1.5, the tests shall be accepted as equivalent to tests of a forged coupon. The forging stock supplier, however, shall not be required to use unforged coupons when performing
39、 lot conformance testing. 3.4 Quality: The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.4.1 When specified, forgings and rolled rings shall be subjected to ultrasonic
40、 inspection in accordance with ASTM B 594 and, unless otherwise specified, shall meet the following requirements of that specification: 3.4.1.1 Die forgings and rolled rings 0.500 to 4.000 inches (12.70 to 101.60 mm), inclusive, in nominal thickness and weighing not over 300 pounds (136 kg) shall me
41、et Class B. 3.4.1.2 Hand forgings 1.000 to 6.000 inches (25.40 to 152.40 mm), inclusive, in nominal thickness and weighing not more than 600 pounds (272 kg) shall meet Class A. 3.4.1.3 Acceptance criteria for forgings or rolled rings exceeding the limits of 3.4.1.1 or 3.4.1.2 shall be as agreed upon
42、 by purchaser and vendor. 3.4.2 When specified, forgings and rolled rings shall be subjected to fluorescent penetrant inspection in accordance with ASTM E 1417. Standards for acceptance shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. 3.5 Tolerances: Forging stock shall conform to all applicable req
43、uirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform a
44、ny confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. SAE - 8 - AMS 4126C AMS 4126C 4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1.1), tolerances (3.5), and, when specified, ultrasonic and fluorescen
45、t penetrant inspection (3.4.1 and 3.4.2) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests: Grain flow of die forgings and rolled rings (3.3.1.2) and tests of stock for forging or rolled rings to determine ability to develop specified p
46、roperties (3.3.2) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be in accordance with AMS 2355. 4.4 Reports: 4.4.1 The vendor of forgings or rolled rings shall furnish with each s
47、hipment a report stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition tolerances, and nondestructive testing inspection, when required and showing numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include
48、the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS 4126C, size, and quantity. This report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the mill produced size. 4.4.2 The vendor of stock for forging or rolled rings shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the chemical co
49、mposition of the stock conforms to specified requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, AMS 4126C, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting: Shall be in accordance with AMS 2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Identification: Shall be as follows: 5.1.1 Forgings and Rolled Rings: In accordance with AMS 2808. 5.1.2 Stock for Forging or Rolled Rings: As agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. SAE - 9 - AMS 4126C AMS 4126C 5.2 Packaging: The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B
