Hardness has been used to verify that product is properly processed,
40、 but an “out-of-range hardness number” is not always indicative of product with “out-of-specification tensile strength”. Further analysis including material composition verification, heat treat process parameter review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-range hardness may be
41、 necessary.8.2.2 After Precipitation Heat Treatment Should be not lower than 120 HB/10/500 or 125 HB/10/1000, determined in accordance with ASTM E 10, but forgings should not be rejected on the basis of hardness if tensile property requirements are met. 8.3 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917
42、. 8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units and the Fahrenheit temperatures are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the Celsius temperatures are shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information. 8.5 Purchase documents should specify not less than the following: AMS4134FProduct form and size or part number of product desired Quantity of product desired Standards for acceptance of fluorescent penetrant and/or ultrasonic inspection, when specified (See 3.4.1).
