Hardness has been used to verify that product is properly processed, but an out-of-range hardness number is not always indicative of product with-out-of-specification tensile properties. Further analysis, including material composition verification, heat treat process, parameter

38、review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-range hardness, may be necessary. 8.3 For flash welded rings, “Nominal Diameter or Least Thickness” refers to the radial thickness of the ring. 8.4 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917. 8.5 Purchase documents should specify not

39、 less than the following: AMS4150M Product form and size or section identification number of product desired Quantity of product desired. Whether Type II tubing is required (Where no Type is specified Type I tubing shall be supplied) Whether Class 1 or Class 2 solution heat treatment is required. 8.6 Similar Specifications ASTM B 221 and ASTM B 221M are listed for information only and shall not be construed as acceptable alternates unless all requirements of this AMS are met.
