2、(Table 1), Properties (3.3.1.2.1, 3.3.1.3), and Reports (4.4.1), and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, profiles, and tubing up to 32 square inches (206 square cm) in area. (S
3、ee 8.5). 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring good strength where fabrication does not usually involve welding, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these extrusions to become susceptible to str
4、ess-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. 25、 by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the extrusions. 3.4.1 When specified, extrusions shall be subjected to ultrasonic inspection in accordance with ASTM B 594. Extrusions 0.500 inches (12.70 m
26、m) and over in thickness, not exceeding 600 pounds (272 kg) per piece, or a 10 to 1 width-to-thickness ratio shall meet ultrasonic class B. 3.5 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The
27、vendor of extrusions shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the extrusions conform to specified requirements. 4.2 Cla
28、ssification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), longitudinal tensile properties (3.3.1.1), ultrasonic inspection when specified (3.4.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Long-transver
29、se tensile properties (3.3.1.2) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 30、ions shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the extrusions conform to the chemical composition, ultrasonic inspection when required, and tolerances and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. Th
31、is report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number, AMS4153L, size or section identification number, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, product form, producer lot number, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range
32、covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Packaging Extrusions shall be prepared for shipment in accordance w
33、ith ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the extrusions to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. 34、ons and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Extrusions not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. 36、nly. 8.2 Hardness should be not lower than 125HB/10/500 or 130HB/10/1000, determined in accordance with ASTM E 10. Hardness has been used to verify that the product is properly processed, but an out-of-range hardness number is not always indicative of product with out-of-specification tensile proper
37、ties. Further analysis, including material composition verification, heat treat process parameter review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-range hardness, may be necessary. 8.3 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917. 8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units are
