SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification

6、covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet. 1.2 Application This sheet has been used typically for structural applications requiring a combination of high strength, moderate fatigue strength, and high fracture toughness, but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The i

24、 H35.2 / ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the sheet shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Results of such tests shall be reported to the purchaser as required by 4.4.

25、Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the sheet conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), fracture toughness (3.3.2) when required by p

26、urchaser, and dimensional tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending (3.3.3) and cladding thickness (3.3.4) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing

27、 is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling Shall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the following: 4.3.1 Sampling for fracture toughness testing (3.3.2) shall be as agreed upon by vendor and purchaser. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the sheet shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the produc

28、t conforms to the chemical composition, tolerances, and nondestructive tests, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4207C,

29、 size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4207C Page 5 of 5 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with AS

30、TM B 666/ B 666M. 5.2 Protective Treatment Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.3 Pa

31、ckaging and Preservation Products shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor s

32、hall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7.
