22、ser and vendor.3.4.1.3 Forging Stock When a sample of stock is forged to a test coupon and heat treated as in 3.3, specimens taken from the heat treated coupon shall conform to the requirements of 3.4.1.1. If specimens taken from the stock after heat treatment as in 3.3 conform to the requirements o
23、f 3.4.1.1, the tests shall be accepted as equivalent to tests of a forged coupon.3.5 Quality The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and imperfections detrimental to usage of the product.3.5.1 When specified, forgings s
24、hall be subjected to ultrasonic inspection in accordance with AMS2630 or other method acceptable to purchaser and shall conform to the following requirements of AMS2630:3.5.1.1 Die forgings 0.50 to 3.00 inches (12.7 to 76.2 mm), inclusive, in nominal thickness and weighing not over 300 pounds (136 k
25、g) shall meet Class B.3.5.1.2 Hand forgings 1.00 to 6.00 inches (25.4 to 152.4 mm), inclusive, in nominal thickness and weighing not over 600 pounds (272 kg) shall meet Class A.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4362G Page 4 of 63.5.2 When specified, die forgings shall be subjected to fluorescent penetrant inspec
26、tion in accordance with ASTM E 1417/E 1417M or other method acceptable to purchaser. Acceptance standards shall be as established by purchaser (See 8.4).3.6 Tolerances Forging stock shall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2201.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspect
27、ion The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements.4
28、.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsTests for the following requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed in accordance with AMS2355:4.2.1.1 Composition (3.1) of the product.4.2.1.2 Tensile properties (3.4.1.1 or 3.4.1.2) of forgings.4.2.1.3 Ultrasonic (3.5.1) and fluorescent
29、penetrant Inspection (3.5.2) when specified.4.2.1.4 Tolerances (3.6) of forging stock.4.2.2 Periodic TestsTests of forging stock to determine ability to develop specified properties (3.4.1.3) are periodic tests and shall beperformed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing i
30、s specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be as follows; a lot shall be all forgings of the same nominal cross-section and configuration heat treated in the same batch-furnace load or in a continuous furnace during an eight-hour period.4.3.1 CompositionShall be in accordance with ASTM B
31、 953 and the following: at least one sample shall be taken by the producer from each group of ingots poured simultaneously from the same source of molten metal.4.3.1.1 Unless compliance with 4.3.1 is established, an analysis shall be made for each 4000 pounds (1814 kg) or less of alloy comprising th
32、e lot except that not more than one analysis shall be required per piece.4.3.2 Tensile Properties4.3.2.1 Die ForgingsAt least one separately-forged coupon or one forging prolongation heat treated with each lot of forgings.4.3.2.1.1 In lieu of a prolongation or separately-forged coupon, tensile speci

34、greed upon by purchaser and vendor.4.4 Reports4.4.1 The vendor of forgings shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests for composition and tensile properties of each lot and stating that the forgings conform to the other technical requirements. This report shall include th
35、e purchase order number, lot number, AMS4362G, size or part number, and quantity.4.4.2 The vendor of forging stock shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the chemical composition of the stock conforms to the specified requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number,
36、 lot number, AMS4362G, size, and quantity.4.5 Resampling and RetestingIf any specimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the product may be based on the results of testing two additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Retest specimen
37、s from forgings shall be taken from as close as possible to the same location in the same forging or other forgings from the same lot as was the original unacceptable specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the product represented.
38、Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be as follows:5.1.1 ForgingsIn accordance with AMS2808.5.1.2 Forging StockAs agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.5.2 Protective Treatment5.2.1 Prior to shipment, the product shall be coated with a corrosion-inh
39、ibiting oil, unless chrome pickling in accordance with AMS2475 is required by the purchaser.5.3 Packaging5.3.1 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of
40、 the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSProduct not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by
