Discoloration due to thermal treatment shall not be cause for rejection.3.4.1 When specified, extrusions shall be subjected to ultrasonic inspection
25、 in accordance with ASTM B 594 and shall meet the following requirements.3.4.1.1 Extrusions, with nominal thickness of 0.500 to 1.499 inches (12.70 to 38.07 mm), not exceeding 600 pounds (272 kg) per piece, or a 10 to 1 width-to-thickness ratio, shall meet ultrasonic Class B.3.4.1.2 Extrusions, with

27、ity for InspectionThe vendor of extrusions shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the extrusions conform to specified
28、 requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.1.1), tensile properties after solution and precipitation heat treatment (3.3.2.1), ultrasonic inspection when specified (3.4.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and, excep
29、t for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4476 Page 5 of 54.4 ReportsThe vendor of product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances
30、 and showing numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number, AMS4476, size or section identification number, extrusion type, and quantity. The report shal
31、l also identify the producer, the product form, and the mill produced size.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M.5.2 PackagingExtrusions shall be prepared for shipment in accordance w
32、ith ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the extrusions to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number in all quotations and when acknowledging
33、 purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSExtrusions not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
