SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a silver alloy in the form of wire, rod, sheet, strip, foil, pig, powder, shot, and chips, and a viscous mixture (paste) of powder in a suitable binder.1.2 ApplicationThis material has been used typically for joining ferrous metals and alloys, requirin

7、g good joint strength up to 600 F (316 C) for short-time service or up to 400 F (204 C) for long-time service, and for joining nonferrous metals except those having a base of titanium, aluminum, or magnesium, but usage is not limited to such applications.2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the follo

8、wing documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTSP

12、roducts shall meet the requirements of AWS A5.8 BAg-34 and the following:3.1 ConditionAs fabricated unless otherwise specified. 3.1.1 PastePaste not containing flux (3.1.1.1) shall be supplied unless paste containing flux (3.1.1.2) is specified.3.1.1.1 Paste Not Containing FluxShall consist of 84 to

13、 90% by weight powder in a suitable binder, unless otherwise specified by purchaser.3.1.1.2 Paste Containing FluxShall consist of 55 to 80% by weight powder in a suitable binder and flux combination, unless otherwise specified by purchaser.3.1.1.3 Paste shall have a shelf life of not less than six m

14、onths from date of manufacture; not more than thorough mixing shall be required to restore paste for use during that time.3.1.1.4 Paste without flux shall leave no adherent residue when heated in a protective atmosphere to 1000 F (538 C) or higher.3.2 QualityThe product, as received by purchaser, sh

15、all be uniform in color, quality, condition, and free from foreign materials and imperfections detrimental to usage of the filler metal. Wire, rod, sheet, strip, and foil shall be clean, sound, bright, and free from slivers, splitting, ragged edges, damaged ends, and other injurious imperfections. P

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all sa

23、mples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance Te

24、stsAll technical requirements, other than shelf life of paste (3.1.1.3) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsShelf life of paste (3.1.1.3) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified b

25、y purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with the following:4.3.1 CompositionFor all products except powder, one sample from each lot; for powder, one sample from each furnace charge.4.3.2 Properties Except Shelf Life of PasteOne sample from each lot.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4761B Page

26、 5 of 64.3.3 Other Technical RequirementsAs agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.4.3.4 A lot shall be all product, other than powder and paste, produced from a single furnace charge (or melt) which has been tested and found to conform to the composition requirements of AWS A5.8.4.3.5 A lot of powder

27、shall be a uniform blend of powder produced from one or more furnace charges, each meeting therequirements of this specification and presented for vendors inspection at one time.4.3.6 A lot of paste shall be that paste produced from a single lot of powder combined with binder from the same manufactu

28、ring batch and presented for vendors inspection at one time.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the composition requirements and stating that the product conforms to all other technical requirements.

29、This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number or numbers, AMS4761B, form, size, and quantity.4.5 Resampling and RetestingNot applicable.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 Identification5.1.1 The product shall be identified as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.5.1.2 Each exterior cont

30、ainer or package shall be permanently and legibly marked with not less than the following information:SILVER ALLOY BRAZING FILLER METALAMS4761BLOT NUMBER _MANUFACTURERS IDENTIFICATION _NOMINAL DIMENSIONS _WEIGHT _5.1.2.1 Each container and package of paste shall also be marked with the date of manuf

31、acture.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 The product shall be suitably wrapped, sealed, and boxed or otherwise packaged for protection against injury and contamination during shipment and under normal dry storage conditions.5.2.2 Packages of filler metal shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial

32、 practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the filler metal to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations a

33、nd when acknowledging purchase orders.7.
