6、and Sampling and Testing (4.3), and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification.1. SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a silver alloy in the form of wire, rod, sheet, strip, foil, pig, powder, shot, and chips, and a viscous mixture (paste) of powder in a suitable binder.1.2 Application

7、This material has been used typically for joining ferrous metals and alloys, requiring good joint strength up to 600 F (316 C) for short-time service or up to 400 F (204 C) for long-time service, and for joining nonferrous metals except those having a base of titanium, aluminum or magnesium, but usa

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document is

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS3.1 CompositionShall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1. Methods for analysis shall be by spectrochemical methods or other analytica

16、 no adherent residue when heated in a protective atmosphere to 1000 F (538 C) or higher.3.4 QualityThe product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in color, quality, condition, and free from foreign materials and imperfections detrimental to usage of the filler metal. Wire, rod, sheet, strip

17、, and foil shall be clean, sound, bright, and freefrom slivers, splitting, ragged edges, damaged ends, and other injurious imperfections. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perf

29、orm any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsAll technical requirements, other than properties (3.3) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsPropert

30、ies (3.3) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with the following:4.3.1 CompositionFor all product except powder, one sample from each lot; for powder, one

31、sample from each furnace charge.4.3.2 Other Technical RequirementsAs agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4762B Page 6 of 74.3.3 A lot shall be all product, other than powder and paste, produced from a single furnace charge (or melt) which has been tested and found to conform to

32、the requirements of Table 1.4.3.4 A lot of powder shall be a uniform blend of powder produced from one or more furnace charges, each meeting the requirements of 3.1, and presented for vendors inspection at one time.4.3.5 A lot of paste shall be that paste produced from a single lot of powder combine

33、d with binder from the same manufacturing batch and presented for vendors inspection at one time.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the composition requirements and stating that the product conforms

34、to all other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number or numbers, AMS4762B, form, size, and quantity.4.5 Resampling and RetestingNot applicable.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 Identification5.1.1 The product shall be identified as agreed upon by purchase

35、r and vendor.5.1.2 Each exterior container or package shall be permanently and legibly marked with not less than the following informationSILVER ALLOY BRAZING FILLER METALAMS4762BLOT NUMBER _MANUFACTURERS IDENTIFICATION _NOMINAL DIMENSIONS _WEIGHT _5.1.2.1 Each container and package of paste shall a

36、lso be marked with the date of manufacture.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 The product shall be suitably wrapped, sealed, and boxed or otherwise packaged for protection against injury and contamination during shipment and under normal dry storage conditions.5.2.2 Packages of filler metal shall be prepared for sh

37、ipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the filler metal to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its

38、 revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7.
