SCOPE:1.1 Form: This specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of round, square, and flat wire 0.625 inch (15.88 mm) and under in nominal diameter or thickness.1.2 Application: This wire has been used typically for helical springs for service at elevated

7、temperatures (See 8.2 and 8.3), but usage is not limited to such applications.2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Composition: Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet chemical methods in accordance with ASTM E 354, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser.3.1.1 Check Analysis: Composition variatio

12、ns shall meet the applicable requirements of AMS 2269.3.2 Condition: Cold drawn from hot finished wire or rod which has had suitable surface preparation for removal of scale, seams, or other injurious surface imperfections. Wire shall be solution heat treated by heating within the range 2000 to 2200

13、 F (1093 to 1204 C) before reducing to the size ordered.3.2.1 Wire 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) and under in nominal diameter or thickness shall be cold reduced between 50% and 65% following solution heat treatment.3.2.2 Wire over 0.250 to 0.625 inch (6.35 to 15.88 mm) in nominal diameter or thickness shall

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of wire shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purcha

29、ser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the wire conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests: All technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.4.3 Sampling and

30、Testing: Shall be in accordance with AMS 2371.4.4 Reports: The vendor of wire shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests for composition of each heat and for tensile properties and wrapping as supplied, tensile properties after precipitation heat treatment, tensile proper

31、ties after solution and precipitation heat treatment of each lot, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Wire shall be supplied on spools or in coils excep

34、t when straight lengths are ordered.5.2 Identification: 5.2.1 Spools and Coils: Shall each be legibly marked, on a durable tag or label, with not less than the manufacturers identification, purchase order number, AMS 5699G, nominal size, and quantity; boxes or drums shall be marked with the same inf

35、ormation.5.2.2 Straight Lengths: Shall have attached to each bundle or enclosed in each box a durable tag legibly marked with the information of 5.2.1; when boxed, the box shall be marked with the same information.5.3 Packaging: 5.3.1 Spools and Coils: Coils shall be individually wrapped with waterp

36、roof paper or packed in waterproof drums. Spools, when ordered, shall be boxed.5.3.2 Straight Lengths: Shall be bundled or boxed.5.3.3 Wire shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packag

37、ing, and transportation of the wire to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT: A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONS: Wire not conforming to this specification, or to modi

38、fications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
