18、tion3.3.3.1 Decarburization shall be measured by the metallographic method or by the microhardness traverse method in accordance with ASTM E 384. The microhardness method shall be conducted on a hardened but untempered specimen protected during heat treatment to prevent changes in surface carbon con
19、tent. Depth of decarburization, when measured by the microhardness method, is defined as the perpendicular distance from the surface to the depth under that surface where there is no further increase in hardness. Such measurements shall be far enough away from any adjacent surface to be uninfluenced
20、 by any decarburization on the adjacent surface. In the case of dispute, the microhardness traverse method shall govern. 3.3.3.2 AllowanceThe total depth of the decarburization, determined metallographically at a magnification not exceeding 100X or by themicrohardness traverse method on the as-suppl

27、m any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified requirements.4.2 Classification of TestsAll technical requirements of this specification are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in
28、accordance with AMS2370.4.4 ReportsThe producer of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the producer identity and country where the metal was melted (i. e., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the results of tests for composition and
29、 frequency-severity cleanliness rating of each heat, and for hardness, average grain size and bending of each lot, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot number(s), AMS6352K, product form, size, and
30、 quantity.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2370.5.
