19、ural requirements shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.3.4.3.3 Tubing to which 3.4.3.1 or 3.4.3.2 is not applicable shall be free from complete decarburization. The microhardness method sha
24、ll be conducted on a hardened but untempered specimen protected during heat treatment to prevent changes in surface carbon content. Depth of decarburization, when measured by the microhardness method, is defined as the perpendicular distance from the surface to the depth under that surface where the
25、re is no further increase in hardness. Such measurements shall be far enough away from any adjacent surface to be uninfluenced by decarburization on the adjacent surface. In case of dispute, the depth of decarburization determined using the microhardness traverse method shall govern.3.4.3.4.1 When d
26、etermining the depth of decarburization, it is permissible to disregard local areas provided the decarburization of such areas does not exceed the above limits by more than 0.005 inch (0.13 mm) and the width is 0.065 inch (1.65 mm) or less.3.5 QualityTubing, as received by purchaser, shall be unifor
27、m in quality and condition and shall have a finish conforming to the best practice for high quality aircraft tubing. It shall be smooth and free from heavy scale or oxide, burrs, seams, tears, grooves, laminations, slivers, pits, and other imperfections detrimental to usage of the tubing. Surface im
28、perfections such as handling marks, straightening marks, light mandrel and die marks, shallow pits, and scale pattern will not be considered injurious if the imperfections are removable within the tolerances specified for wall thickness, but removal of such imperfections is not required.3.5.1 Steel
29、shall be aircraft quality conforming to AMS2301.3.5.2 When specified, the tubing, either with or without machining of the surfaces, shall be subjected to magnetic particle inspection in accordance with ASTM E 1444. Standards for acceptance shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.3.6 Toleranc
30、esShall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2253.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of tubing shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to
31、perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the tubing conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of TestsAll technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS6361F Page 5 of 64.3 Sampling and T
32、estingShall be in accordance with AMS2370.4.4 Reports4.4.1 The producer of the tubing shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the producer identity and country where the metal was melted (i.e., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations), the results of tests
33、for composition and frequency-severity cleanliness rating of each heat and for tensile properties and average grain size of each lot, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS6361F, size,
34、and quantity. 4.4.2 When the product size is outside the size range covered by Table 2, the report shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2370.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 SizesExcept when exact lengths or multiples of exact lengths are
35、ordered, straight tubing will be acceptable in mill lengths of 6 to 20 feet (1.8 to 6.1 m) but not more than 10% of any shipment shall be supplied in lengths shorter than 10 feet (3 m).5.2 IdentificationShall be in accordance with AMS2807.5.3 Protective TreatmentTubing shall be protected from corros
36、ion prior to shipment.5.4 PackagingTubing shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the tubing to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDG
37、MENTA vendor shall include this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7.
