Fracture toughness requirements do not apply to plate under 0.500 inch (12.70 mm) in nominal thickness.3.5.
18、2.3.1 Fracture toughness testing in the longitudinal direction is not required on plate tested in the transverse direction.3.6 QualityPlate, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the

20、asonic inspection.3.7 TolerancesShall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2242.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of plate shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserve
21、s the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the plate conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), hardness (3.5.1.1), macrostructure (3.5.1.2), tensile properties (3.5.2.1), impact strength (
22、3.5.2.2), ultrasonic inspection (3.6.1), and tolerances (3.7) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.4.2.2 Periodic TestsFracture toughness (3.5.2.3) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is
23、specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2370.4.4 Reports4.4.1 The producer of plate shall furnish with each shipment a report showing producer identity and country where the metal was melted (e. g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting o
24、perations) and the results of tests for composition and macrostructure of each heat, hardness, tensile, and impact properties of each lot, ultrasonic soundness of each plate and, when performed, results of tests for fracture toughness, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical req
25、uirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS6544D, size, and quantity.4.4.2 When the product size is outside the size range of 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2370.5. PREP
