、 Resistant65 to 75 HardnessFor Seals In Hydraulic Systems, etc.RATIONALEAMS7338 is a new specification issued as no AMS7xxx O-ring specification for butyl exists.1. SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a butyl rubber in the form of molded rings, compression seals, o-ring cord, and molded-in-place
、gaskets for aeronautical and aerospace applications. As AMS3238 is no longer valid for O-rings. For O-rings, the requirements of AMS7338 shall be met wherever AMS3238 is specified.1.2 ApplicationThese products have resistance to phosphate ester fluids and/or low permeability to gases, but usage is n
、ot limited to such applications. Not suitable for use in contact with petroleum-base fluids due to excessive swell. Each application should be considered separately. This Material Type has a typical service temperature range of -75 to +250 g113F (-59 to +121 g113C) in air.1.3 Safety Hazardous Materi
、alsWhile the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity wi
、th the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved.2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to t
、he extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published issue of that document shall apply.SAE AMS7338 Pa
