、nt lists Human Modeling System user requirements with corresponding average score.1.1 Purpose:The purpose of this survey is to formulate and publish a statement of user requirements for human modeling systems, and to promote an SAE standard for electronic human modeling technology. This requirements
、 document will enable human factors and anthropometric researchers, developers of human modeling systems, and others to ensure that human modeling systems satisfy user requirements.1.2 Survey Development:The User Requirements Subcommittee developed a preliminary outline and format for the requiremen
、ts survey. The entire SAE Human Modeling Technology and Standards Committee was pooled for surveys of which they were aware and the subcommittee compiled existing surveys and questionnaires. The larger committee agreed that a survey, which elicited general requirements, would not prove useful; there
、fore, the subcommittee developed a survey, which was intended to elicit and obtain specific user requirements.1.3 Procedure Used to Solicit and Collect User Requirements:Initially, human modeling system developers were pooled for names and addresses of users and a preliminary mailing list was compil
、ed by SAE. Additional names were added to the mailing list by SAE Human Modeling Technology and Standards Committee members, related SAE committee members, and by word of mouth. Approximately 200 surveys were mailed (see Appendix A for the SAE survey cover letter and Appendix B for the survey instru
、ctions).1.4 Procedure Used to Input, Sort and Compile Survey Responses:56 surveys were returned within the October 1995 to November 1996 timeframe. Survey response from the European community was low due, in part, to the Digital Human Model User Requirements Survey conducted by the European Commissi

、s:User requirements for human modeling systems are constantly changing and evolving. Therefore, the User Requirements Subcommittee plans to conduct additional user surveys and update this document periodically. It is hoped that web tools can be utilized to distribute surveys, collect and tabulate da
