REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Materials:Materials shall conform to this document and the specifications referenced herein or as otherwisestated

10、by the procuring agency.3.1.1 Barrier Material: Barrier material used in fabrication of the covers shall conform to physicalproperties as specified in Table 1.3.1.2 Color of Cover: The color of the cover shall be as specified by the purchasing activity (see 6.2)in accordance with FED-STD-595.3.2 Cov

11、er Design and Construction:3.2.1 Design: The cover shall be designed to conform to the configuration of the equipmentspecified.3.2.2 Patterns: The patterns for the protective covers shall be taken directly from the equipment. Access to the equipment may be as stipulated in the contract.3.2.3 Fit: Pr

12、otective covers shall be generally form-fitting without obstructing the flow of air currentsand shall be sufficiently loose at extremities to relieve any strain on the closure and ease theinstallation process, as required.3.2.4 Construction: The cover shall be constructed using good commercial pract

13、ices.3.2.4.1 Closure: The design of the cover shall provide manually operated closure for the rapidinstallation/removal of the cover on/from the item. Multiple closures are permitted to expediteinstallation. Closure shall not fail during transport.3.2.4.2 Installation Instructions: Each cover shall

14、be accompanied by one set of water resistantinstructions. The instructions shall include a step-by-step procedure for closing, opening,installing, and removing the cover from the item and handling equipment for which it isdesigned. The instructions for each design shall be approved by the purchasing

15、 activity.3.2.4.3 Seams: The seams of the cover shall be the overlap type. Seams shall meet allrequirements of the barrier material when tested in accordance with 4.5.1 where applied.3.2.4.4 Draw Straps (Optional): Draw straps shall be installed on the cover to hold loose fittingmaterial close to th

16、e item. 21、ginal.SAE ARP4732- 4 -3.2.4.5 Record Receptacle(s) (Optional): The cover shall incorporate a record receptacle pouch witha flap and a suitable sealing device. The receptacle shall have a minimum internal dimensionof 280 mm wide x 355 mm long (11 in wide x 14 in long) (see 6.2).3.2.4.6 Drain Device (

22、Optional): The covers shall be provided with a corrosion-resistant devicelocated at the lowest part of the cover. The device shall be capable of draining any fluidsfrom the cover (see 6.2).3.2.4.7 Hoisting (Optional): One 230 mm (9 in) sleeve for each hoisting point (see 6.2).3.2.4.8 Match-Marking (

23、Optional): The cover shall be match-marked, as required, to assure correctinstallation (see 6.2).3.2.4.9 Reinforcements (Optional): The cover shall be reinforced with a second ply of material at allsharp corners and angles. The item being covered should have protective padding installedonto sharp ed

24、ges and corners (see 6.2).3.2.4.10 Closure Tool (Optional): Each cover shall be accompanied by a closure tool designed tooperate smoothly without forcing or binding. The closure tool shall be housed in a pocketmade as an integral part of the cover and designed to preclude damage to the cover durings

25、hipment (see 6.2).3.3 Identification of Covers:Each cover shall be marked for identification, as required by the procuring activity (see 6.2).3.4 Markings:The following markings shall be printed directly on all covers with a minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in)letters at the locations in the size specified b

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsible for Inspection:Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purcha

28、se order, the supplier is responsible for theperformance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified inthe contract or order, the supplier may use his/her own or any other facilities suitable for theperformance of the inspection requirements specified herein. Th

29、e buyer reserves the right toperform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemednecessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.4.2 Classification of Inspection:The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as fol

30、lows:a. Preproduction inspection (see 4.3)b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4)4.3 Preproduction Inspection Tests:The inspection tests shall be performed on one completed cover manufactured from samematerial under the same manufacturing processes that will be used for production models andshal

31、l consist of the transporting of covered item to typical destination to determine suitability. Upon completion of trial run, inspection shall be done to determine if any failure occurred.4.3.1 Preproduction Inspection Reports: After the supplier or manufacturer completes the finalinspection of the f

37、he barrier material containing a typical seam shall be tested inaccordance with FED-STD-191 Method 5904.4.5.1.2 Abrasion Resistance: The barrier material shall be tested for resistance to abrasion inaccordance with ASTM D 1044.SAE ARP4732- 7 -4.5.1.3 Corrosiveness:4.5.1.3.1 Test Specimen: Two highly

38、 polished magnesium panels 50 x 100 x 1.5 mm (2 x 4 x 1/16 in)shall be thoroughly cleaned and washed with a dry cleaning solvent, then with alcohol, andallowed to dry. They shall then be individually placed in a 75 x 125-mm (3 x 5-in) (insidedimensions) pouch fabricated from barrier material. After

39、insertion of the panel, the excessair shall be exhausted from the pouch by hand and the pouch seamed.4.5.1.3.2 Procedure: The resultant assemblies shall be suspended vertically in a circulating air ovenmaintained at 71 C 1.0 C (160 F 2 F) for 48 h, after which the pouches shall beremoved and allowed

40、 to come to room temperature. In this test method, a visible change inthe surface finish, such as pitting or etching, or the formation of loose or granular particlesshall constitute corrosion. Discoloration alone shall not be considered corrosion.4.5.1.4 Resistance to Blocking: The resistance to blo

41、cking shall be tested in accordance withFED-STD-101, Method 3003, Procedure D.4.5.1.5 Fluid Resistance: The fluid resistance of barrier material shall be tested in accordance withFED-STD-101, Method 3015 using fluids defined by user activity (see 6.2). The exposuretime to synthetic fluid shall be 72

42、 h at 71 C (160 F).4.5.1.6 Hydrostatic Resistance: The hydrostatic resistance of the barrier material shall be inaccordance with FED-STD-191, Method 5512.1.4.5.1.7 Tensile Strength (Without Seam): The breaking strength of the material shall be tested inaccordance with FED-STD-191, Method 5100.4.5.1.

43、8 Tear Strength (Without Seam): The barrier material shall be tested in accordance withFED-STD-191, Method 5134.1 and shall conform to Table 1.4.5.1.9 Resistance to Low Temperature Stiffening: The ability of the plastic sheet to resist stiffeningat temperature specified in Table 1 shall be determine

44、d in accordance with ASTM D 2136.4.5.1.10 Lacquer Lifting: The lacquer lifting test shall be conducted by placing a 75 x 125-mm(3 x 5-in) sample of the barrier material over a lacquered panel of equal or largerdimensions. The material shall be covered with a flat glass plate which is then weightedwi

45、th 0.9 kg (2 lb) weight. The barrier material shall remain exposed for 14 days.4.5.1.10.1 Preparation of Test Panels: The lacquered panels shall be prepared by applying twomedium coats of the lacquer shown in Table 3 to thin carbon sheet steel. The surface ofthe sheet shall be smooth and thoroughly

47、proofness:4.5.1.11.1 Test Preparation: Two 200 x 300-mm (8 x 12-in) specimens shall be tested in accordancewith 4.5.1.11.2.4.5.1.11.2 Procedure: After flexing the specimen shall be allowed to come to room temperature anddried by wiping with absorbent material. The specimen shall then be made into a

48、pouch. A quantity of shredded absorbent paper sufficient to fill pouch shall be placed insidepouch remaining, the edge sealed closed and the pouch placed into a water solutioncontaining 1% Aerosol OT and Methyl Violet for 10 min. The pouch shall then beremoved, wiped dry, and the shredded absorbent

49、paper examined for dye stains.4.5.1.12 Ply Separation: The ability of the material to resist ply separation shall meet therequirements of Table 1 and FED-STD-191, Method 5970.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY:5.1 Packaging:Packages which required overpacking for acceptance by the carrier shall be packed in exteriortype shipping containers in a manner that will ensure safe transportation to the point of delivery. Containers shall meet Uniform Freight Classification Rules or regulations of other commoncarriers as applicable to mode of transportation.6. NOTES:6.1 Inten
