7、la, hard roller or brush to gently impregnate the fabric. Take care not to distort or damage the fabric. If any dry areas of fabric remain, add additional resin locally.e. Leave for 5 minutes to allow the entrapped air to escape.f. Lay the drawing film with the ply outlines over the fabric. Take car

Do not work out excess resin at this time. Confirm fabric has been fully wetted out.h. Cut out the impregnated plies, according to the drawi

9、ng film, with a knife or scissors. All layers shall remain covered with film on both sides.i. Use a brush to apply a thin coat of laminating resin to the entire repair area. Take care to work the resin into the surface of the bond area to ensure that it is fully wetted. Use the minimum amount of res

10、in necessary to wet the surface.j. Remove the parting film (but leave the drawing film in place) from the first impregnated ply. Peel at 45 to the fiber direction.k. Position the ply on the repair area by aligning the primary and secondary axes.l. Use a squeegee or hard roller to remove wrinkles and

11、 entrapped air by gently squeezing the laminate.m. Remove the drawing film. Peel at 45 to the fiber direction.n. Repeat steps j., k., l., and m. for all other plies. Count the parting films and the drawing films to make sure that no films are left in the repair patch.o. Impregnate the peel ply using

12、 the same methods as described for the fabric. Apply the impregnated peel ply on top of the repair plies.p. Vacuum bag the repair area. Refer to ARP5143, Method 3.q. Apply vacuum to the vacuum bag. Use the maximum vacuum that is available (22 inches of Hg 560 mm of Hg or 75 kPa minimum)r. Squeeze th

13、e laminate to remove excess resin and entrapped air. Use a squeegee to sweep the resin outward from the center of the laminate. Sweep the squeegee slowly and with a little pressure to keep the air in a wave of resin in front of the squeegee. Push the resin wave a minimum of 0.4 inch (10 mm) past the

14、 edge of the largest repair ply. If the viscosity of the resin is too high, it may be lowered with the help of a heat gun or an iron. The resin temperature should not exceed 95 F (35 C). The heating period shall not exceed 15 minutes.NOTE: If you sweep the squeegee too quickly, or with too much pres

15、sure, you will not remove the air from the laminate and may cause weave distortion.s. Squeezing out of resin shall be stopped when the fabric weave of the laminate can just be felt through the vacuum bag material.SAE INTERNATIONAL ARP5319 Page 14 of 19 8.1 (Continued):t. 16、 until after the repair is cured. Refer to the Repair Document for details.8.2 Ply Impregnation and Lay-up Method 2 - “Manual Impregnation make sure the fabric is free of wrinkles. Take care to work the resin into the surface of the bond area to ensure that it is fully wetted. Use the minimum amount of resin necessary to wet the surface.j. If repairing an area with open

20、 cell honeycomb core exposed, add sufficient fumed silica to the remaining laminating resin to provide a non-slumping consistency, approximately 5% by mass. Refer to ARP5256 and the Repair Document. Mix with a spatula until the mixture is uniform. Remove the parting film (but leave the drawing film

21、in place) from the first ply, peel at 45 to the fiber direction. Apply the thickened resin by using either of the following methods (refer to the Repair Document):1. Use a brush or spatula to distribute the resin over the bottom of the first ply, where it will be in contact with the open honeycomb c

22、ore. Typically apply 0.65 g/inch2(0.1 g/cm2) of thickened resin.2. Use a soft roller to distribute the resin over the surface of the open honeycomb core.k. Remove the parting film (but leave the drawing film in place) from the first ply if not already done. Peel at 45 to the fiber direction.l. Posit

23、ion the ply on the repair area by aligning the primary and secondary axes.m. Use a squeegee or hard roller to remove wrinkles and entrapped air by gently squeezing the laminate.n. Remove the drawing film. Peel at 45 to the fiber direction.o. Repeat steps k., l., m. and n. for all other plies. Count

24、the parting films and the drawing films to make sure that no films are left in the repair patch.p. (Optional) If a peel ply is required by the Repair Document, apply the peel ply on top of the repair plies. The peel ply is not impregnated in this method.q. Vacuum bag the repair area. Refer to ARP514

25、3, Method 1.SAE INTERNATIONAL ARP5319 Page 16 of 19 8.3 Ply Impregnation and Lay-up Method 3 - “Vacuum Impregnation & Vertical Bleed”:WARNING: Provide for sufficient ventilation when mixing and using the resin.CAUTION: After mixing the resin the pot life (working time) is limited. The temperature of

26、 the mixture influences the viscosity and the pot life. Refer to the manufacturers information.CAUTION: This process should be finished before 80% of the pot life has elapsed to ensure time for laminate consolidation.Make sure that all the preparatory tasks are completed prior to starting the mixing

27、 and impregnation process. Refer to Sections 6 and 7 of this document.a. Place a piece of vacuum bag film, cut at least 6 inches (150 mm) larger than the piece of fabric, on a flat surface. Make sure the film is free of wrinkles. Refer to Figure 4.b. Center a piece of parting film, cut approximately

28、 2 inches (50 mm) larger than the piece of fabric, on the vacuum bag film. Make sure the film is free of wrinkles.c. Center the fabric on the parting film.d. Place approximately 5.0 inches (125 mm) wide strip of breather material around the fabric. Butt the edge of the breather against the fabric. T

29、his will allow air to be removed from the fabric as it is displaced with the resin.e. Cut the drawing film with the ply outlines approximately 2 inches (50 mm) larger than the piece of fabric.f. Place vacuum bag sealing tape on the vacuum bag film around the outside of the strip of breather material

30、.g. Place two vacuum probe bases over the breather material.h. Place vacuum bag film over the area to extend beyond the vacuum bag sealing tape. Seal one edge to the sealing tape. Refer to ARP5256 and the Repair Document. Record the time for control of residual pot life.k. Pour the mixed r

32、esin onto the fabric in a continuous line across the center of the fabric. Make sure the fabric is free of wrinkles. Keep a small amount of resin to apply a thin layer to the repair area prior to lay-up.l. Lay the drawing film with the ply outlines over the fabric, taking care to align the warp dire

33、ction axis.m. Seal the vacuum bag to the sealing tape.n. Apply vacuum to the vacuum bag. Use the maximum vacuum that is available (22 inches of Hg 560 mm of Hg or 75 kPa minimum).o. Use a squeegee or hard roller to gently and slowly sweep the resin from the center of the fabric to the edge of the fa

34、bric. Do not sweep the resin out of the fabric. Sweep the fabric so that it is uniformly covered with resin. There should not be any pools of resin or dry fabric areas.p. Remove the vacuum and open the vacuum bag. Remove the fabric from the vacuum bag with the parting film and drawing film left on t

35、he fabric.q. Cut out the impregnated plies, according to the drawing film, with a knife or scissors. All layers should remain covered with film on both sides.r. Use a brush to apply a thin coat of laminating resin to the laminate bond area on the component to be repaired. Take care to work the resin
