PURPOSE: The format described herein is recorrIInended for use in presenti.ng technical information on aerospac
3、e support equipment which is commercially available. It is similar to a form used by Air Force and Navy to describe support equipment now in military use. Currently available literature or documentation on commercial support equipment is generally either too lengthy and detailed or too brief and vag
4、ue to allow an engineer selecting support equipment for a support system to make an initial decision as to whether or not the equipment is acceptable for inclusion in the system. Furthermore, since there is no consistency in arrangement, size, or content in this literature, it is difficult to compil
5、e for ready reference. It is intended that data sheets of the type described here would be prepared and distributed on a voluntary basis by manufacturers of aerospace support equipment to potential users of the equipment. It is similar to a form used by Air Forc;e in MIL-HIK-300, “Technical Informat
6、ion File for Ground Support Equipment“ to describe support equipment no in military use. 2. APPLICATION: Only the following equipment should be described with this forma: (a) Aerospace support equipment which has been developed and which is available for immediate purchase and which is not already d
7、escribed in MIL-HDBK-3oo. (b)Functionally complete aerospace support equipment units or subsystems as differentiated from components and hardware items which form a part of the unit. 3, SCOPE: This recommended practice describes the requirements for preparation of one format for presentation of engi
8、neering information on aerospace support equipment. 1. REQUIREMENTS : l.l Arrangement: The data sheet shall consist of a single sheet printed front and back and arranged in the manner illustrated in Figure l. l.2 Size and Color: The data sheet shall be printed on a durable white 82 by 11 inch paper.

10、pose, capabilities, limitations and technical specifications. .l Identification Data: 1.4.1 Fnctional C1ass: Assign a functional class code number from the classes listed in Table I. This functional class will serve as an index to compiling the data sheets. .l.2 Item Name: The item name shall reflec
11、t the functional class to which the equipment belongs. Codc names should not be usd. .l.3 Type or Model Designation: This designation is optional and if used shall be consistnt with the manufacturers system of Type or Model designation. .5 Illustration: The illustration should be such as to provide
12、the user of the data sheet with an unobstructed view of the equipment emphasizing its significant features. Photographs of the actual equipment should be used whenever possible. HoWever when necessary, artists renditions or isometric draWi.ngs may be used. The illustration shall be large enovgh to s
13、erve the above purpose and yet allow room for a full functional description. I5. DISTRIBUTION: It is recommended that data sheets prepared in accordance with this ARP be dis- tributed to engineering personnel of the aerospace industry concerned ri.th support equipment.
