SCOPE:This Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for manufacturers of Fasteners to be accredited by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP). NADCAP accreditation is granted in accordance with SAE AS7003

5、 after demonstrating compliance with the requirements herein. These requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements specified by NADCAP Fastener Manufacturing Task Group. Using the corrsponding Audit Criteria checklists (PRI ACs) will ensure that accredited Fastener Manufacturing supplie

GENERAL QUALITY SYSTE

16、M:3.1 The suppliers quality system shall be approved by one of the following:a. NADCAP approval to SAE AS7106 or SAE AS7107b. Certification/registration program as approved by NADCAP; reference the NADCAP Fastener Manufacturing Auditor Handbook for the current listing of programs approved by NADCAP4

17、. SPECIAL PROCESS AND CONTROL OF SUB-TIER SUPPLIERS:4.1 For each of the following special processes performed at the manufacturers facility, the supplier shall be NADCAP accredited as follows:a. Nondestructive Testing - SAE AS7100/1b. Material Test Laboratories - SAE AS7101c. Heat Treat - SAE AS7102

18、d. Chemical Processes - SAE AS7108e. 19、for aerospace and defense parts, processes and materials shall be accredited by NADCAP or approved by the customer.a. Nondestructive Testingb. Material Test Laboratoriesc. Heat Treatingd. Chemical Processinge. Coatings4.3 Procedures shall describe the method for selection and control of sub-tier sup

20、pliers of special processes.4.3.1 These procedures shall comply with customer requirements.4.3.2 Records shall indicate conformance to the procedure.4.4 For sub-tier distributors from whom materials, component parts, and other items destined for use in the aerospace industry are purchased, there sha

21、ll be procedures that describe the methods to be used for selection and control.4.5 The supplier shall have a documented system for control of their approved/authorized distributors that they sell to.4.6 The supplier shall comply with the procedure.5. SUPPLIER DRAWINGS5.1 When a supplier drawing is

22、created to replace a customer drawing for use in the shop, there shall be a documented review performed to assure all customer requirements are flowed down to the supplier drawing.6. TRAINING:6.1 Operator training for in-process inspection shall conform to suppliers documentation.Copyright SAE Inter

FORMING/HEADING:7.1 The supplier shall have documentation detailing forming operations.7.2 Documentation shall designate the tooling to be used.7.3 Inspec

24、tion gaging shall be clearly defined.7.4 The inspection interval shall be listed.7.5 Inspection gaging instructions shall be sufficient for the product inspected.7.6 The heating method shall be included in instructions for hot forming.7.7 There shall be a method of controlling heating temperature.7.

25、8 When heat is required, instructions shall list maximum temperature permitted for each material.7.9 Metallurgical evaluation shall be performed on the first piece and at established intervals.7.10 Dimensional evaluations shall be performed on the first piece and at established intervals.7.11 Record

26、s shall be maintained documenting metallurgical and dimensional evaluations.7.12 There shall be formalized and approved procedures for controlling the manufacturing operations and lab analysis on heated formed parts for metallurgical and dimensional control.8. FILLET ROLL PROCESS:8.1 The manufacture

27、r shall have documented in-process requirements for the as-ground fillet dimensions and finish prior to fillet roll process.8.2 Documentation shall define what fillet rolls are selected to properly cold work the fillet and provide instruction sufficient to assure the correct size and finish.8.3 Docu

29、all be adequate to assure that the fillet is cold worked sufficiently to meet theproperty requirements of the drawings or specifications.9. THREAD ROLLING OR MACHINING:9.1 The supplier shall have documentation for pre-thread roll diameter size.9.2 Variable gaging shall be used to establish and contr

30、ol thread element sizes.9.3 Cold or Warm Rolling:9.3.1 Metallurgical evaluation shall be performed on first piece and at established intervals.9.3.2 Records documenting metallurgical evaluations shall be maintained.9.3.3 When thread rolling is required, it shall be performed in proper sequence.9.3.4

31、 Dimensional evaluations shall be performed on the first piece and at established intervals.9.3.5 Records documenting dimensional evaluations shall be maintained.9.4 Warm Rolling:9.4.1 The heating method shall be included in instructions when thread rolling with heat.9.4.2 There shall be a method of

32、 controlling heating temperature.9.4.3 When heat is required, instructions shall list the maximum temperature permitted.9.5 Roll Forming (Knurling and Serrations or Swaging)9.5.1 The supplier shall have documented in-process requirements for roll forming, knurling and serration processes, and swagin

GRINDING, DRILLING, AND BROACHING:10.1 Coolant/lubricant shall be used where specified by suppliers documentation.10.2 Precautions shall be taken to avoid overheating material during grinding.10.3 Feed rates and cutting speeds shall be documented and complied

35、with.10.4 There shall be documented processing steps to assure that contaminants are not trapped beneath the petals of the broach.10.5 There shall be a documented deburr process.10.6 Grinding wheels shall be clean, dressed, and free from foreign objects.11. STAMPING/BLANKING/COLLAR WRAPPING:11.1 Doc

36、umentation shall be available and used by the operator for stamping and blanking operations.11.2 Documentation shall designate what tools are to be used.11.3 Documentation shall indicate what gages are to be used.11.4 The supplier shall conduct first piece evaluation when required, and the results s

37、hall be documented.11.5 The supplier shall have calibrated gages to assure dimensional conformance of parts produced.11.6 Documentation shall define the measurements and gaging of stamped/blanked product.11.7 Records indicating that the instructions are followed shall be maintained.Copyright SAE Int

TAPPING:12.1 Documentation for tapping operations shall be available and utilized by the operators.12.2 Documentation shall designate the tooling to be

39、 used for tapping operations.12.3 Documentation shall define the gages to be used.12.4 There shall be documentation for thread measurement and gaging which defines the frequency and sample size of in-process checks.12.5 The supplier shall use variable thread measurement gages to control thread eleme

40、nt size when required.12.6 The supplier shall conduct first piece evaluation, and the results shall be documented.12.7 Records shall be maintained indicating that the instructions are followed.13. LOCKING FEATURE:13.1 The method of inducing locking feature shall be established by part number/family.

41、13.1.1 The feature forming process shall be described in documentation.13.2 Inspection gaging instructions shall be established for product inspection.13.3 If inserts/patches are used, there shall be a method of controlling heating temperature.13.4 The heating method shall be included in the instruc

42、tions.13.5 When heat is required, the instructions shall list maximum temperature permitted.13.6 Inspection gaging and test components shall be listed in the instructions.13.7 The testing instructions shall be documented.13.8 Parts shall be evaluated for cracking after deformation.Copyright SAE Inte

SELF-LOCKING FEATURE TESTING:14.1 Documentation shall be available that describes equipment, test set-up, and methods.14.2 Specifications shall be avai

44、lable describing test requirements and conditions.14.3 Fixtures of proper diameter, thickness, hardness, finish, and material shall be available and inconformance.14.4 Test bolts or mandrels of required size and material shall be available and in conformance.14.5 Test bolts shall be used only once.1

45、4.6 Torque measuring equipment shall be calibrated.14.7 Torque measuring equipment shall cover the appropriate test range.14.8 Preload measuring equipment shall be calibrated.14.9 Preload measuring equipment cover the appropriate ranges.14.10 Tests shall be performed in guided fixturing to assure pr

46、oper alignment when required. 15. COMPLIANCE:The supplier shall demonstrate compliance with applicable customer requirements and the requirements contained herein. Compliance shall be verified through audits of in-process and completed jobs.The Auditor shall perform job audits as defined by the NADC

47、AP Fastener Task Group in the NADCAP Fastener Manufacturing Auditor Handbook. The job audits shall verify compliance with applicable requirements and the effective implementation of the manufacturers quality system.
