SCOPE: This Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for suppliers of Composites to be accredited by Nadcap. Nadcap accreditation is g

5、ranted in accordance with SAE AS7003 after demonstration of compliance with the requirements herein. The requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements specified by the Nadcap Composites Task Group. Using the corresponding Audit Criteria (PRI AC7118) will ensure that accredited Composit

6、es suppliers meet all of the requirements in this standard and all applicable supplementary standards and applicable AS7118 slash sheets. The purpose of this audit program is to assess a suppliers ability to consistently provide a product or service that conforms to the technical specifications and

7、customer requirements. The corresponding audit criteria is also structured to obtain information relevant to management practices and processes that directly or indirectly affect the product or service. This information will be used in the determination of accreditation status and may be used by the

12、4844: Composites and Metal Bonding Glossary NOTE: This glossary is for guidance only. 3.2 Controlled Contamination Area (CCA): An enclosed room where environmental conditions are controlled, and contaminates detrimental to adhesion are restricted. CCA is required for prepreg lay-up, metal bonding, a

13、nd core fabrication operations using uncured prepreg or film/foaming adhesives. Potting of core within cocure assemblies shall be performed in a CCA. 3.3 Environmentally Monitored Area (EMA): An area within the facility where contaminates detrimental to adhesion are restricted, and environmental con

14、ditions are monitored. EMA is required for machining and potting of core, wet lay-up, installation of inserts, and the application of adhesives for secondary bonding at room temperature or oven curing. SAE AS7118 - 3 - 4. QUALITY SYSTEM: 4.1 The suppliers quality system shall be approved by one of t

15、he following: a. Nadcap approval to PRI AC7004. b. Certification/registration program recognized by Nadcap. 5. GENERAL CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS: 5.1 Process Approval: 5.1.1 Customer approval shall be obtained for the following processes, as required: a. Prepreg/Adhesive Bonding b. Metal Bonding c. Core

16、 Processing NOTE: May include hand lay-up, tape placement, pressure bag molding, vacuum bag molding, adhesive bonding, core processing and machining of composites. 5.2 Sub-tier Suppliers: 5.2.1 The supplier shall document flow down of customer requirements to any sub-tier suppliers. 5.2.2 Customer a

17、pproved sources shall be used for subcontractors, if required by the customer. 5.3 Internal Audits/Workstation Audits: 5.3.1 The supplier shall have a procedure requiring internal audits to verify compliance to process requirements. 5.3.2 Internal audits shall be performed according to the suppliers

18、 procedure. 5.4 Software Quality Assurance (SQA): NOTE: Software quality assurance procedures shall meet customer requirements, if applicable. Also, if an AC7004 or equivalent quality system audit was conducted as part of this special process audit or a previous special process audit, then this para

19、graph is not applicable. SAE AS7118 - 4 - 5.4.1 Procedures shall be established to control the software (including firmware) used in the automated design, inspection, test or manufacture of products. 5.4.2 The supplier personnel responsible for ensuring compliance with the software quality program r

20、equirements shall have the resources, authority, and organizational freedom to permit objective valuations and to initiate and verify corrective actions. 5.4.3 The supplier shall have a documented system to address software related problems and nonconformances. 5.4.4 Supplier shall have records main

21、tained and shall have software backups secured in a remote location for disaster recovery in accordance with customer(s) data retention requirements. NOTE: The requirements for software records should be documented. 5.4.5 The organization developing the software shall have a documented system to ens

22、ure the software is developed and documented in a consistent, understandable, and maintainable manner. 5.4.6 Software shall be uniquely identified in the appropriate work instructions. 5.4.7 Program changes shall be documented and shall have a revision history maintained. 5.4.8 Programs controlling

23、part characteristics shall have first article inspections performed. 5.4.9 The supplier shall have a documented system to protect the software from unauthorized changes. 5.4.10 The suppliers procedure shall prevent access to obsolete software. 5.5 Training: 5.5.1 The Quality Manual shall require doc

24、umented training of personnel responsible for composites manufacturing. 5.5.2 A training program shall be in place for all operators/inspectors, test technicians and contract review personnel. 5.5.3 Records shall indicate that training is scheduled and attended in accordance with training program. 5

25、.5.4 The suppliers training procedure shall include instructions on the requirements for operator training/retraining. SAE AS7118 - 5 - 5.5.5 A list of qualified personnel shall be maintained indicating training, proficiency and re-qualification date. 5.6 Source Control Drawings: 5.6.1 As applicable

26、, supplier drawings shall be approved, including revisions, by the Prime. 6. COMPLIANCE: 6.1 Compliance with the requirements contained herein and customer requirements shall be verified by auditing in-process or, when authorized, completed jobs. The number of jobs to be audited shall be determined by the Nadcap Composites Task Group. If multiple job audits are performed, selection of jobs should be based on representative sampling of type of work, products, and customers.
