、2007 - 6 - 3. DEFINITIONS 3.1 Forward Lighting A lighting device designed to provide illumination forward of the vehicle. 3.2 Replaceable Bulb (Bulb) A light source with related envelope and mounting base, which is removable from the headlamp for the purpose of replacement. 3.3 Seasoning Process of
、energizing the filament of a bulb at design voltage 0.1V DC for a period of time equal to 1% of design life or 10 hours maximum, whichever is shorter. 3.4 Design Voltage The voltage used for design purposes. 3.5 Life Total time (expressed in hours) during which a bulb has been operated before it bec
、omes inoperable. For filament bulbs, it is considered to be so according to one of the following criteria: a. The end of life is the time when the filament fails. b. The life of a dual-filament bulb is the time until either filament fails, if the bulb is tested in a switching cycle involving alterna
、tive operation of both filaments. 3.6 Life Test Voltage The voltage used for laboratory life test on a bulb filament. 3.7 Test Voltage The specified voltage and tolerance to be used when conducting a test. 3.8 Rated Voltage The nominal circuit or vehicle electrical system voltage classification. (Ex
、ample: 12 V headlamp bulb.) 3.9 Accurate Rated Bulb (Standard Bulb) A seasoned bulb operated at design luminous flux shown in Table 1 and having its filament located within the tolerances indicated in the figures specified in Table 2. The determination of filament location may be made while the fila

In addition to the tables and methods indicated in this document the procedures for determining filament location given in IEC 60809 and ECE Reg. 37 are acceptable. Separate bulbs may be used for high and low beam test
、s. If separate bulbs are used then the secondary filament must be within production tolerances indicated in their respective figures. SAE J2560 Issued JUL2007 - 7 - 3.10 High Beam A beam intended primarily for distant illumination and for use when not meeting or following other vehicles. Also named
、Driving Beam, Main Beam, or Upper Beam. 3.11 Low Beam A beam intended to illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle when meeting or following another vehicle. Also named Passing Beam or Dipped Beam. 3.12 High Beam Filament Filament coil designed to provide high beam function. 3.13 Low Beam Filament Fi
