Fixing lugs shall be welded centrally to the well of the profiles or, if so specified by the purchaser, shall be supplied loose and shall have an acceptable cross-member (head) for locating the lug between the inner
39、faces of the sides of the profile of each jamb. b) Hinges. Each hinge jamb of a door frame and each transom or head member (as relevant) of a frame for an opening type fanlight shall be fitted with two or (if so specified by the purchaser) more butt hinges. The distances between the transverse centr
40、e-lines of the uppermost and lowest hinges on a hinge jamb and the inside surface of the head member or the transom (as relevant) shall be 200 1 mm and 1 800 1 mm respectively (see figure 2) and, when relevant, additional hinges shall be so positioned that they are equidistant from each other. In th

In the case of hinges that are screwed, each hinge shall be screwed to a mild steel reinforcing plate of nominal thickness at least 2,0 mm and of width and length greater than those of the leaf of the hinge. The leaf of each hinge that is attached by welding and each r
43、einforcing plate for hinges attached by screws shall be securely welded to the back surface of the hinge jamb, transom, or head member, as relevant. c) Lock strike plates. The lock jamb of each door frame of type 1A or 1B shall be fitted with an adjustable lock strike plate of nominal thickness at l

The profiles of the welds shall merge
47、 smoothly into the adjacent surfaces of the parent metal without excessive undercut or overlap. The weld faces shall be reasonably uniform and free from excessive porosity, cavities, and trapped slag and, in the case of surfaces that will be exposed in service, shall have been finished flush with th
