19、 mark certification requirements 4 Quality management requirements 4.1 General The quality management system of the reconditioner shall comply with the applicable provisions of SANS 17025, SANS 9001 and SANS 9004. Amdt 1; amdt 2 4.2 Records The reconditioner shall develop and maintain records for ea
20、ch customer. The records shall be clear and legible and shall include explicit identification of the material, part, subassembly, assembly, etc., the nature of the work performed, by whom, on what date, the number and type of deficiencies found, the nature of the corrective action taken and the resu
21、lts of all examinations. SANS 1637:2008 Edition 1.2 5 Records shall be sufficient to demonstrate the achievement of contract requirements. Records shall be safely retained by the reconditioner for a period as agreed upon (see annex A), but for not less than five years. 4.3 Control of non-conforming
22、materiel Any materiel deemed unsuitable for incorporation into reconditioned chain lever hoists shall immediately be identified as such by an appropriate method and shall then be so segregated that it cannot be used inadvertently until disposition is determined. Such materiel shall be disposed of as
23、 agreed upon. (See also 5.5.1 and annex A.) 4.4 Control of inspection, measuring and testing equipment The reconditioner shall provide and maintain sufficient calibrated (in accordance with an agreed national or international standard) inspection, and measuring and testing equipment to demonstrate c
24、ompliance with the relevant requirements of this standard, as agreed upon (see annex A). 5 Before reconditioning 5.1 General Chain lever hoists sent in for reconditioning should preferably be complete units (i.e. complete with all their original components, no matter in what state of deterioration).
25、 5.2 Identification of the chain lever hoists to be reconditioned The following details shall be supplied by the customer and recorded by the reconditioner: a) the original serial number of the chain lever hoist; b) the name of the original manufacturer; c) the brand name and the type of product; an
26、d d) the working load limit (WLL). 5.3 Dismantling Chain lever hoists shall be completely dismantled and reduced to their component parts for initial evaluation before reconditioning is started. The components shall be uniquely identified to ensure that they can be returned to the original hoist. 5.
27、4 Cleaning When dismantled, chain lever hoists shall be cleaned of all rust, scale and foreign matter by an acceptable method. Cleaning shall consist of methods non-injurious to the material being processed. SANS 1637:2008 Edition 1.2 6 5.5 Inspection, gauging and tests 5.5.1 Inspection All componen
28、ts shall be carefully inspected for operation, damage, cracks and wear and for their degree of usefulness in regard to SANS 1636, to the customers requirements or to the original standard. After the inspection, the usable components shall, if necessary, be processed in accordance with the requiremen
29、ts of this standard. Components unsuitable for re-use or restoration shall be replaced. Rejected components shall be disposed of as agreed upon (see 4.3 and annex A). 5.5.2 Non-destructive examination If so agreed upon (to detect any faults that are not visible to the naked eye), chain hoists shall
30、be subjected to suitable non-destructive examination (NDE) such as dye-penetrant examination, magnetic particle examination or fluorescent magnetic particle examination, as agreed upon (see annex A). Records shall be kept. 5.5.3 Mechanical measurement and gauging 5.5.3.1 Casing The casings shall be
31、checked by mechanical means for misalignment. 5.5.3.2 Gears The gears shall be checked mechanically for backlash, in accordance with the requirements of the original standard. 5.5.3.3 Pinion shafts Pinion shafts shall be checked mechanically for straightness and for end float, in accordance with the
32、 requirements of the original standard. 5.5.3.4 Hooks The gauge lengths of hooks shall be measured and checked for compliance with SANS 1595. 5.5.3.5 Load chain The load chain shall be measured in accordance with SANS 1592 for signs of deformation. 6 Reconditioning 6.1 General Reconditioning shall r
33、estore the manually operated chain hoist to its original functional condition in accordance with SANS 1636 or other original standard, as agreed upon (see annex A). Repair shall be by replacement. Welding shall not be carried out on any part of a chain lever hoist. Any deformed parts shall be replac
34、ed they shall NOT be reshaped. SANS 1637:2008 Edition 1.2 7 6.2 Quality of replacement parts Rejected components shall be replaced by genuine spares obtained from the original supplier or manufacturer. 6.3 Replacement hooks Replacement hooks shall comply with the requirements of SANS 1595. 6.4 Repla
35、cement chains A manufacturers test certificate for replacement load chains shall be supplied with the reconditioned chain lever hoist. 6.5 Mandatory replacement of components The following components shall be removed and disposed of, as agreed upon (see annex A): a) cracked or misaligned casings; b)
36、 gears that have sustained physical damage, or gears with tooth wear that results in backlash that exceeds that designed for by the original manufacturer; c) bent pinion shafts and pinion shafts that have worn to the original manufacturers lower machining limit or that have end float that exceeds th
37、e original manufacturers tolerances; d) brake wearing parts (e.g. friction pads), regardless of their condition; e) worn or damaged pawls; f) bearings, regardless of their condition; g) hooks that, because of wear or deformation, do not comply with SANS 1595; h) load chains that, because of wear or
38、deformation, do not comply with SANS 1592; i) load chain wheels that, because of wear or deformation (or both), will hinder the chains passing round the wheel; j) broken, deformed or cracked lever arms; k) all bolts, nuts, locknuts, washers, split pins and circlips, regardless of their condition; an
39、d l) all oil seals, regardless of their condition. 6.6 Assembly Chain lever hoists shall be reassembled using only those parts of which the chain level hoist originally consisted and those new parts specifically ordered and manufactured for it in accordance with the original standard. 40、 Edition 1.2 8 6.7 Lubrication Chain lever hoists shall be supplied lubricated with a lubricant approved by the customer or by the original manufacturer. 6.8 Corrosion protection Chain lever hoists shall be protected against corrosion, as agreed upon (see annex A). 6.9 Replaced components Replaced c
41、omponents shall be disposed of as agreed upon (see annex A). 7 Inspection and testing Inspect and test each chain lever hoist for compliance with the requirements of either SANS 1636 or the original standard. 8 Documentation and test certificates 8.1 General Chain lever hoists reconditioned in accor
42、dance with this standard shall be accompanied by all the relevant documentation. 8.2 Proof load test certificate A proof load test certificate shall be supplied with each reconditioned chain lever hoist. The certificate shall be signed and dated by a competent person in the employ of the recondition
43、er and shall contain at least the following information: a) the original manufacturers name; b) the original serial number of the chain lever hoist; c) the working load limit; d) the applied operational proof load (1,25 WLL static); e) the date and place of the test; f) a statement of compliance wit
44、h this standard (“Reconditioned in accordance with SANS 1637“); and g) the name or trade name of the reconditioner. 8.3 Replacement load chain test certificate A load chain test certificate for a replaced load chain shall be supplied with each reconditioned chain lever hoist. The certificate shall b
45、e signed and dated by the chain manufacturer and shall contain at least the following information: a) the manufacturers name; SANS 1637:2008 Edition 1.2 9 b) the applied test load; and c) the date and place of the test. 8.4 Component check list The reconditioner shall prepare and maintain component
46、check lists that include all components for each type and capacity of reconditioned chain lever hoist. The list shall contain comprehensive details of all work conducted on the chain lever hoist and shall serve as the history record. A completed copy of the list shall be returned with each reconditi
47、oned chain lever hoist. 9 Packing and marking 9.1 Packing The method of packing shall be such as to protect the chain lever hoist against damage and adverse climatic conditions during transportation and storage. 9.2 Marking After reconditioning, the following additional information shall be permanen
48、tly and legibly marked on a suitable part of the hoist: a) the reconditioners name, trade name or trade mark; and b) the date of reconditioning or the job number. SANS 1637:2008 Edition 1.2 10 Annex A (normative) Notes to customers A.1 The following requirements shall be specified in tender invitati
49、ons and in each order or contract: The working load limit (WLL), the name of the original manufacturer, the brand name and type of product and the serial number of the chain lever hoists (see 5.2). A.2 The following requirements shall be agreed upon between the reconditioner and the customer: a) how long records are to be kept if for more than five years (see 4.2); b) the method of disposing of non-conforming materiel (see 4.3); c) control of inspection, measuring and testing equipment (see 4.4); d) whether NDE is required and, when relevant, the type of NDE required (see
