14、ing, design, materials, marking, and preparation for the transportation and storage of diaphragm valves with nominal pressures of PN 6, PN 10 and PN 16 suitable for use in waterworks at temperatures of 5 C to +80 C. 1.2 It covers the requirements for valves suitable for use in industrial application
15、s at temperatures up to 220 C and for a variety of fluids. 1.3 It covers flanged valves of nominal size (DN) in the range DN 15 to DN 400 and valves with internal screwed threads suitable for screwed pipes of size up to and including 80 mm. 1.4 It does not cover the requirements for valves with butt

27、ody end ports 3.3 face-to-face dimension the distance between the two planes perpendicular to the body axis located at the extremities of the body end ports. Where a lining extends over the end faces, the face-to-face dimension is exclusive of the lining thickness 3.4 lined body a body of which the
28、wetted surface and any other sealing areas necessary for the correct functioning of the valve have a lining of a corrosion-resistant or abrasive-resistant material 3.5 nominal pressure PN a numerical designation which is a convenient round number for reference purposes and represents the pressure th
29、at the fully closed valve can stand without leakage at the seat 3.6 nominal size DN a numerical designation of size which is common to all components in a piping system other than components designated by outside diameters or by thread size. It is a convenient round number for reference purposes and
30、 is only loosely related to manufacturing dimensions NOTE 1 Nominal size is designated by the letters DN followed by a number, for example DN 100. NOTE 2 This definition is identical with that in ISO 6708, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). 3.7 required as specifi

32、e diaphragm in the closed position under test conditions 3.10 working pressure the line pressure against which the valve can be closed by manual means 4 Valve pattern The valve pattern shall be one of the following, as specified (see annex A): a) semi-weir pattern (see figure B.1); b) weir pattern (
33、see figure B.2); c) straight through pattern (see figure B.3). SANS 1808-13:2009 Edition 1.2 6 5 Nominal size range 5.1 Flanged body ends The nominal size of a valve (DN) with flanged body ends shall be one of the following, as specified (see annex A): DN 15, DN 20, DN 25, DN 32, DN 40, DN 50, DN 65
34、, DN 80, DN 100, DN 125, DN 150, DN 200, DN 250, DN 300, DN 350 and DN 400. 5.2 Screwed body ends The nominal size of a valve with screwed body ends shall be one of the following, as specified (see annex A): 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65 and 80. NOTE For end-to-end dimensions of screwed body end
35、 valves, refer to the manufacturers catalogue. 6 Nominal pressure The nominal pressure of a valve shall be one of the following, as specified (see annex A): PN 6: For working pressures not exceeding 0,6 MPa; PN 10: For working pressures not exceeding 1,0 MPa; and PN 16: For working pressures not exc
36、eeding 1,6 MPa. 7 Pressure/temperature ratings 7.1 Waterworks application Valves shall be suitable for use in a temperature range of 5 C to +80 C at the maximum nominal pressure of the valve assembly. 7.2 Industrial application The body and bonnet of the valve shall be designed to withstand pressure
37、s in accordance with the pressure/temperature ratings for the respective materials as specified for flanges in the appropriate of BS EN 1092-3, and SANS 1123, as relevant. Amdt 2 NOTE In the case of lined bodies, the pressure/temperature rating might be restricted to the manufacturers recommendation
38、s. When the valve has a flange which has a different PN rating from that of the body, then the lower of the two shall be taken as the body pressure rating. 8 Dimensions and tolerances of body ends 8.1 Flanged body ends 8.1.1 Dimensions Flange dimensions shall comply, as appropriate, with the require
39、ments of one of the following standards, except that it is permissible for flanges to be undrilled (see note): SANS 1808-13:2009 Edition 1.2 7 a) SANS 1123 for pipe flanges; b) EN 1759-1 for steel; Amdt 2 c) BS 1560-3-3.2 for cast iron; d) BS EN 1092-3 for copper alloy; and Amdt 2 e) BS EN 1092-3 fo
40、r copper alloy. Amdt 2 NOTE Flanges will be supplied drilled unless undrilled flanges are specified by the purchaser (see item (e) of annex A). 8.1.2 Face-to-face dimensions Face-to-face dimensions shall be in accordance with table 1. 8.1.3 Tolerances on face-to-face dimensions Tolerances on face-to
41、-face dimensions shall be in accordance with table 1. 8.2 Threads for screwed body ends The threads of screwed body ends shall comply with the requirements of SANS 1109-1. 9 Design and operation 9.1 Design 9.1.1 Nominal pressure rating The design of the valve shall be such that when the valve is tes
42、ted in accordance with 11.1, the valve shall shut off tight (i.e. there shall be no leakage past the seat). 44、ere shall be no leakage past any seal in the body or through the material of the body. 9.1.3 Bodies End flanges of flanged steel valves shall be cast or forged integral with the body. 9.1.4 Bonnets If sealed bonnet valves are required (see item (f) of annex A), the bonnet shall have a seal between t
45、he spindle and the bonnet neck to withstand the test pressure or line vacuum without leakage. 9.1.5 Diaphragms The diaphragm shall be capable of being replaced. 9.1.6 Fasteners The type of fastener shall be as required by the manufacturer and shall comply with an acceptable standard. 46、8-13:2009 Edition 1.2 9 9.2 Operation 9.2.1 Operational capability It is permissible for valves to be designated for operating conditions that have the differential pressure across the diaphragm limited to values less than the nominal pressure rating. In these cases, the valve bonnet shall be marked
47、 with this limiting pressure (see 13.1). All valves shall be capable of being operated by one of the appropriate devices specified in 9.2.2 and 9.2.3. 9.2.2 Manual operation Handwheels, where fitted, shall be marked with the direction of closure. Handwheels shall be securely fitted yet allow for rem
48、oval and replacement when necessary. Unless otherwise specified, valves shall be designed for clockwise closing (see item (h) of annex A). 9.2.3 Actuator operation Where actuator operation is required and the actuator is not an integral part of the valve, the valve to actuator flange or the yoke dim
49、ensions shall comply with the requirements of ISO 5211. Amdt 2 NOTE The details of the actuator and its power supply together with the design maximum pressure differential across the valve should be specified by the purchaser (see item (i) of annex A). 9.2.4 Indicators Valves shall, if so specified, be provided with an indicator (see item (j) of annex A) to show the open and closed positions. 10 Materials (type and quality) The type of material for the different components of the valve shall be as identified
