、Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0 technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been esta

IS0 collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electr-otechnical standard
、ization. Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an lnter- national Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote. International Standard IS0 2795 was prepared by Technical Comm

、troduction The sizes given in this International Standard are based on a range of shaft diameters which are considered to correspond to the requirements of industry. For all except the smallest sizes, a thin-wall series is pro- vided in addition to the normal series in order to introduce an element
、of choice and, more importantly, to provide for the possibility of the same sizes being adopted for plain bearings made from other materials. It is envisaged that as far as possible the same outside diameters will be recommended for all types of plain bearings. . . . III This page intentionally left
