13、 3.1 4 4 Principle A prescribed number of buttons are sewn onto adjacent fabric and washed in accordance with prescribed washing methods. The change in colour and degree of staining is assessed by means of the appropriate grey scale. Other visible changes in or damage to the buttons are reported. 5
14、Apparatus and reagents As specified in SANS 105-C10, appropriate to the textile fabric of the made-up item onto which the buttons are to be sewn, except that the size of the adjacent fabric(s) is 140 mm 80 mm. Amdt 1 If, as agreed upon, two single-fibre adjacent fabrics are used, then the first adja
15、cent fabric is of the same kind of fibre as that of the fabric of the made-up item onto which the buttons are to be sewn. 6 Test specimens Stitch the appropriate number of buttons (see table 1) onto the first adjacent fabric or multifibre adjacent fabric, as agreed upon, cover the buttons with the s
16、econd adjacent fabric, or a non-dyeable fabric, for example polypropylene if multifibre adjacent fabric is used, and sew the two fabrics together on all four edges and around each button. 17、at if the buttons are too large for 6 to be sewn onto the adjacent fabric, the maximum number that can be accommodated on the adjacent fabric should be used. 7 Procedure Use the one of the tests specified in SANS 105-C10, appropriate to the textile fabric of the made-up item onto which the buttons a
18、re to be sewn. Amdt 1 8 Evaluation Examine the tested specimens and by means of the grey scales, assess the change in colour of the buttons and the staining of each adjacent fabric or each stripe in the multifibre adjacent fabric, as required. 19、llowing particulars: a) all data needed to identify the sample tested; b) that the test was carried out in accordance with this standard; c) any deviation from this standard; d) the test number used; Amdt 1 e) the adjacent fabric used; and f) the numerical ratings for colour change of each button and for staining of each adjacent fabric or each stripe in the multifibre adjacent fabric, as required.
