6、formance of wax polishes 1 Scope This standard specifies a method for the determination of the performance of wax polishes. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 8、n of specular gloss of non-metallic paint films at 20, 60 and 85. 3 Test conditions Carry out the test at 24 C 2 C and a relative humidity of 50 % 5 %. 4 Apparatus a) Vinyl panel, a standard vinyl panel measuring 250 mm 250 mm as described in the relevant method in SANS 1042 and coated in accordance
9、 with the relevant methods in SANS 1042 with four coats of polymer floor dressing complying with the requirements of SABS 1042 for type 1 and giving a 60 specular gloss on the fourth coat of at least 80. b) Reflectometer, as described in SANS 2813. 5 Procedure 5.1 After the application of the fourth
10、 coat of dressing, allow the vinyl panel to age for at least 10 d before using it. 5.2 Evenly apply by means of a soft cloth, approximately 0,5 g of the polish sample to half the vinyl panel, noting the ease of application. 5.3 Note the time taken for the film on the vinyl panel to dry hard to the t
11、ouch. 5.4 When the film is dry, rub it vigorously, using a soft cloth and applying pressure. 5.5 Measure the 60 specular gloss of both halves of the panel in accordance with SANS 2813. SANS 5978:2008 Edition 2 2 6 Test report Report the following information: a) all the data needed to identify the laboratory sample tested; b) confirmation that the test was carried out in accordance with this standard; c) any deviation from this standard; and d) the results, for the 60 specular gloss of both halves of the panel.
