12、-drive type hose clips for use in aircraft and for general purposes. NOTE a) The titles of standards referred to by number in the specification are given in appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in appendix B. c) Guidance on the verification of general purpos

13、e and aircraft hose clips (worm-drive type) is given in appendix C. Amdt 1 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this specification the following definitions shall apply: acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as releva

14、nt Amdt 1; amdt 3 band a strip metal component that is intended to encircle a hose and has serrations or slots, and to which the housing is fixed (see figure 1) defective a hose clip that fails in one or more respects to comply with the relevant requirements of the specification housing a component

15、that accommodates the screw (see figure 1) lot not less than 90 and not more than 35 000 hose clips of the same size designation, material(s), design, and finish, from one manufacturer, submitted at any one time for inspection and testing 3 Requirements 3.1 Materials The band, housing, washer(s) (if

16、 any), and screw of a hose clip shall be of steel (including stainless steel) or other acceptable material, as specified by the purchaser. 17、ns 3.2.1 Usage A hose clip shall be of the type intended for use in aircraft or for general purposes, as specified by the purchaser. 3.2.2 Size and dimensions The size designation of a hose clip shall be one of those given in table 1 and figure 1, or as specified by the purchaser. Amdt 2 3.3 Design

18、and construction 3.3.1 General a) The general design and construction of a hose clip shall be as shown in figure 1. b) The design shall be such that, when a hose clip is fitted on to a hose of the appropriate size and tightened, 1) the hose clip fits snugly on the hose and bears effectively over the

19、 entire circumference of the hose; 2) the hose is not nipped and there is no gap between the hose and the tightening device; and 3) the hose clip remains secure without the need for a locknut or locking wire. 3.3.2 Band The band shall have transverse serrations or slots (as specified by the purchase

20、r) that start at the free end of the band and extend far enough to enable the hose clip to be tightened to the lower value of its working diameter range (see table 1). The form and pitch of the serrations or slots shall conform to the form and pitch of the screw. 3.3.3 Screw The screw shall be of th

21、e following diameters: a) for hose clip size ranges 5 25 mm: 6 mm; and b) for larger hose clip size ranges: 8 mm. The screws shall be of the slotted round or hexagon head type. (See also NOTE below.) NOTE 1) The following hose clip sizes are available with 6 mm screws: 5 15 mm (8 mm maximum band wid

22、th) 10 20 mm (8 mm maximum band width) 15 25 mm (either 8 mm maximum band width or 13 mm maximum band width) 2) The hose clip diameter range of 15 25 mm is available with 6 mm or 8 mm diameter screws. Amdt 2 For bands with serrations the screw shall have a single-start right-hand thread of Acme form

23、 with a pitch not exceeding 2,5 mm and for slotted bands a single-start right-hand thread of square or buttress form with a pitch not exceeding 3,0 mm. If so required by the purchaser, each hose clip shall be provided with an acceptable device to prevent a screwdriver from slipping out of the slot i

24、n the head of the screw while the hose clip is being tightened. NOTE Hose clips of working diameter exceeding 140 mm are used for a variety of purposes, including s

26、trapping. Amdt 2 3.3.5 Size designation 5 140 mm The size designation of a hose clip shall be equal to the maximum external diameter of the hose that the clip is designed to secure. Amdt 2 3.3.6 Size designation exceeding 140 mm The size designation of hose clips of working diameter exceeding 140 mm

27、 shall increase with increments of not less than 20 mm, as shown in table 1. Amdt 1; amdt 23.4 Assembly The housing shall be securely held in position on the plain end of the band. I

29、n the case of an assembly that has a plated finish, any welding or method of assembly which may damage a plated finish shall have been done before the assembly was plated. The assembled hose clip, consisting of the housing (with band in position), screw, and, if applicable, washer(s), shall be such

30、that, when the loop is properly and completely formed, the screw is held firmly in engagement with the serrations or slots in the band and any axial and sideways movements of the screw are as small as practicable. 31、ients of the SABS.SANS 814:2009 Edition 3.3 7 3.5 Strength 3.5.1 Initial torque When determined in accordance with 6.2.1, the torque required for the first tightening and loosening of a lubricated hose clip shall not exceed 2,3 Nm for the 8 mm screw type and 1,5 Nm for the 6 mm screw type. 32、5.2 Deleted by amendment No. 2. 3.5.3 Hydraulic pressure When a hose clip is tested in accordance with 6.2.3, the joints between the hose and the pipes shall withstand without leaking a hydraulic pressure of at least the appropriate value given in table 2. 34、rtion, and b) the highest torque attained during retightening of the hose clip shall exceed the appropriate value given in table 3. 3.5.5 Flexibility of bands (aircraft hose clips only) When tested in accordance with 6.2.5, the band of an aircraft hose clip shall show no sign of cracking or laminati

35、ons. 3.6 Finish 3.6.1 General All components of a hose clip shall be smooth and free from burrs and sharp edges. 3.6.2 Plating If not of an intrinsically corrosion resistant material, the components of a hose clip shall have a coating that complies with the relevant of the following requirements: a)

The coating on general purpose hose clips shall be one of the following, as specified by the purchaser: 1) a

37、 passivated cadmium plating complying with the requirements (other than for thickness) of EN 12330 for Cd2 coatings; or Amdt 3 2) a passivated zinc plating complying with the requirements (other than for thickness) of EN 12330 for Zn2; or Amdt 3 3) a sherardized coating complying with the requiremen

38、ts (other than for thickness) of BS 4921 for class 2. 41、only be used and printed by approved subscription and freemailing clients of the SABS.SANS 814:2009 Edition 3.3 9 4 Packing and marking 4.1 Packing Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, hose clips shall be packed in acceptable containers, and only clips of the same size designation, material(

42、s), design, and finish, shall be packed together in a container. 4.2 Marking 4.2.1 Hose clips Each hose clip shall be legibly marked with the manufacturers name, trade mark, logo or any other identification: All hose clips of band width not exceeding 13 mm and of working diameter range not exceeding

43、 140 mm shall have the size designation stamped on the band. In the case of clips in the working diameter range exceeding 140 mm, the range size marking shall be in accordance with the manufacturers or the purchasers requirements. Amdt 2 4.2.2 Containers Each container shall be legibly and indelibly

44、 marked (or shall bear a label so marked) with the following information: a) the name or trade name or other identification of the manufacturer; b) the size designation; c) the quantity of hose clips. 5 Sampling and compliance with the specification NOTE This section applies to the sampling for insp

45、ection and testing before acceptance or rejection of single lots (consignments) in cases where no information about the implementation of quality control or testing during manufacture is available to help in assessing the quality of the lot. It is also used as the procedure for adjudicating in cases

46、 of dispute. 5.1 Sampling The following sampling procedure shall be applied in determining whether a lot complies with the relevant requirements of the specification. The samples so taken shall be deemed to represent the lot for the respective properties. 5.1.1 Sample for inspection From the lot tak

47、e at random the number of hose clips shown in column 2 of table 5 relative to the appropriate lot size shown in column 1, ensuring that, if the hose clips are packed in containers, the sample is taken from at least five different containers, chosen at random. 5.1.2 Sample for testing After inspectin

48、g (see 6.1) the sample drawn in accordance with 5.1.1, take from it at random the applicable number of hose clips shown in column 4 of table 5.
