This document was originally developed by the TIA TR-8.5 Signaling and Data Transmission subcommittee, and TIA Industry members. Members of the TI

24、A TR-8.5 Signaling and Data Transmission Subcommittee progressed the original document through the TIA standards development process to its status as a Project 25 standard. This document defines the TCP/UDP port numbers for use with P25 standard applications. The TIA makes no claims as to the applic

32、s per TIA guidelines, updated page header, and removed draft watermark for publication TIA-102.BAJD1 1 Introduction The Project 25 TCP/UDP Port Number Assignment specification describes the TCP/UDP port numbers assigned to P25 standard data applicationsTCP 2 and UDP 1 are transport protocols defined

33、 in IETF RFCs that are intended for use with the IP protocol. Both protocols use port numbers whose values are governed by the IANA 3. The IANA has set aside a range of “dynamic/private“ port numbers that are usable without assignment by the IANA 1.2.2.It is necessary to reserve a range of these dyn

34、amic/private port numbers for P25 applications, so that manufacturers can develop interoperable P25 applications, and also develop applications outside the scope of P25 that do not conflict with P25 applications in their use of TCP/UDP port numbers. Port numbers in this reserved range are assigned t

User Datagram Protocol 2 TCP/UDP Port Number Assignment A port number is a 16 bit value that identifies the source or destination of TCP or UDP packets. In a TCP or UDP packet, the port number is used in the source or destination port number field in

41、accordance with the TCP 2 or UDP 1 protocols. Manufacturers of equipment to be deployed in accordance with P25 specifications have the option of using TCP/UDP port numbers for non-P25 applications. To avoid conflicts with P25-assigned port numbers, it is necessary to identify a range of port number

42、values reserved for P25-assigned port numbers from the IANA “dynamic/private“ port number range (see 1.2.2), so that manufacturers do not use numbers in this range for other purposes. Manufacturers should not use port numbers reserved for P25 applications as the default port number for non-P25 appli

43、cations. Manufacturers may use port numbers not reserved for P25 applications for non-P25 applications. In addition, P25-assigned port numbers are used within the P25 technical specifications as default values for P25 standard applications that use TCP and UDP protocols.TIA-102.BAJD3 Port numbers as
