、 April 2007, “Project 25 Inter-RF Subsystem Interface Measurement Methods for Voice Services“. This addendum specifies the technical and editorial changes required to include Trunked Console Subsystems as specified in TIA-102.BACA-2, April 2007, in the scope of this document. Addendum Scope This add

、endum introduces the required changes to TIA-102.CACA, April 2007, “Project 25 Inter-RF Subsystem Interface Measurement Methods for Voice Services“ to add the Trunked Console Subsystem to its scope. In relation to its consoles, a Console Subsystem is considered to be a Serving RFSS or both a Serving

、 and Home RFSS that connects to other RFSSs using the ISSI as defined in TIA-102.BACA and TIA-102.BACA-2. For the purposes of measurement methods defined herein, the Console Subsystem does not have an equivalent MPR (Measurement Point R as defined in TIA-102.CACA) between a console and the RFSS netw

、ork for the following reasons. The P25 standards do not address the console user interface or the interface between a single console and its own subsystem. There is no measurable equivalent to the sending and receiving of CAI messages when the source or destination is a console. Also, the P25 trunke

、d console subsystem interface, Ec, is the interface between a Console Subsystem and another RFSS (essentially its an ISSI between two RFSSs) and does not therefore enable the definition of MPR associated with the Console Subsystem. As such, the MPR-to-MPI parameters specified in TIA-102.CACA do not

、apply when the end point is a console. However, the MPI-to-MPI parameters do apply to when the end point is a console. Also note that the console is not considered a Network Equipment (NE) device (NE is defined in TIA-102.CACA, April 2007) because individual consoles do NOT communicate with an RFSS

、through a standardized P25 interface (Ec). The console is considered a device (with most of the characteristics of an SU) internal to the RFSS, with the RFSS acting as a proxy for its consoles. The consoles RFSS (a console subsystem) converts between internal messages to and from individual consoles

、 and Ec which it utilizes to externally connect to other RFSSs. Figure i-1 depicts this relationship. The reader is referred to TIA-102.CACA, April 2007 for all other pertinent information. The next complete revision of TIA-102.CACA will incorporate the
