36、 $ indicates a hex value. 4 Overview The overall objective of this document is to establish a series of conformance tests for the Fixed Station Interface defined in Reference 1 to assure that equipment actually conforms to the protocol specified in 1. This conformance document is part of a document

37、suite describing all pertinent requirements of the Project 25 Fixed Station Interface. The Fixed Station Interface document suite includes the following: Overview Messages and Procedures Measurement Methods Performance Recommendations Conformance Test Procedures (this document) Interoperability Test

38、 Procedures 4.1 Definition of Conformance Testing The important factors which characterize conformance testing are as follows: The Implementation Under Test (IUT) defines the boundaries for testing - by boundaries one can only test functionality that the IUT is capable of; The tests are executed by

39、a dedicated test system that has full control and observes the IUTs behavior. The tests are performed on open standardized interfaces. Because the test system controls the sequence and contents of the protocol messages sent to the IUT, it can explore a wide range of expected behaviors. TIA-102.CADA

40、4 Conformance Tests verify the correct procedure and messaging has occurred in order to achieve the appropriate end result, e.g., verification of the order and content of a series of control tones resulting in the desirable behavior of the Implementation Under Test (IUT), an analog fixed station in

41、this particular case. The specific test cases for the fixed station interface are selected to exercise the interface functionality. In general the interface tests can be applied to a fixed station by exciting the interface with the test signals from simulation hosts and then measuring the fixed stat

42、ions response. 4.2 Types of Conformance Tests There are several types of tests which may possibly be applied to the Implementations Under Test. 4.2.1 Basic interconnection tests: These establish that there is sufficient conformance for interconnection to be possible, and that the main features of th

43、e protocol are implemented, without undergoing thorough testing. Basic interconnection tests are standardized (part of the standard conformance test suite). 4.2.2 Capability tests: The capability tests check that the observable external static capabilities of the implementation are valid with respec

44、t to the static conformance requirements expressed in the performance specifications of the IUT. Capabilities tests are standardized (part of the conformance test suite) and mandatory. 4.2.3 Behavior tests: These tests check, as thoroughly as practical, the dynamic conformance of an implementation w

45、ith respect to the dynamic conformance requirements specified in the protocol standard Messages and Procedures document. The implementation is submitted to a specific number of combinations of events and timing of events, as defined in a test suite. The behavior of the IUT is checked by the tester a

46、nd, according to the presence or absence of error, the IUT is declared conformant to a specific aspect of the protocol specifications covered by this test, or non conformant. In other words, the verdict of each test case is either Pass (meaning conformant), Fail (not conformant), or Inconclusive if

47、no definite conclusion can be derived from this test. Behavior tests are standardized (the test suite being standardized) and mandatory. TIA-102.CADA 5 4.3 Conformance testing architecture FS Analog Interface Figure 1 illustrates the architectural framework used to describe the analog interface conf

48、ormance tests. In the model, simulators are used to: generate audio and trigger messages (e.g. E receive audio and trigger messages (e.g. E In the model, the Subscriber Units (SUs) are used to: generate over-the-air activity as stimulus to the FS to generate activity on its AFSI. In the model, the m

49、easurement equipment is used to: observe analog audio and signaling on the wire pairs ensuring that the correct stimuli is being applied to the AFSI; observe over-the-air interface activity generated by the FS in response to AFSI stimuli; observe over-the-air interface activity generated by test SUs in order to stimulate activity on the AFSI.
