、nterface Type 533-4 4 TIA-1094 iii 0FOREWORD 1 (This foreword is not part of this Standard) 2 This Standard was prepared by Technical Specification Group C of the Third Generation 3 Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2). This Standard contains the air interface requirements for 4 facilitating interworking b

、etween cdma200001HRPD and 1x systems. This specification 5 applies to 1x Release 0 or higher mobile stations and base stations. This specification 6 applies to all releases of HRPD access terminals and access networks. 7 This is a supplementary specification to the 1x and HRPD air interface specific

、ations. 8 This Standard consists of the following sections: 9 1. General. This section defines the acronyms and terms used in this document. 10 2. HRPD Notification in a 1x System. This section defines the procedures for notifying a 11 mobile station of the arrival of mobile terminated data on the H

、RPD system. 12 3. HRPD System Information. This section defines the format and corresponding 13 procedures for the Alternative Technologies Information Message. 14 15 1cdma2000is the trademark for the technical nomenclature for certain specifications and standards of the Organizational Partners (OPs

、) of 3GPP2. Geographically (and as of the date of publication), cdma2000 is a registered trademark of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA-USA) in the United States. TIA-1094 iv 1NOTES 1 1. Compatibility, as used in connection with this Standard, is understood to mean: 2 Any mobile stati

、on is able to place and receive calls. Conversely all base stations are 3 able to place and receive calls for any mobile station. 4 2. Those wishing to deploy systems compliant with this standard should also take 5 notice of the requirement to be compliant with the applicable rules and regulations 6

、 of local administrations. 7 3. “Base station” refers to the functions performed on the land side, which are typically 8 distributed among a cell, a sector of a cell, and a mobile switching center. 9 4. “Shall” and “shall not” identify requirements to be followed strictly to conform to the 10 standa

、rd and from which no deviation is permitted. “Should” and “should not” 11 indicate that one of several possibilities is recommended as particularly suitable, 12 without mentioning or excluding others, that a certain course of action is preferred 13 but not necessarily required, or that (in the negat

、ive form) a certain possibility or 14 course of action is discouraged but not prohibited. “May” and “need not” indicate a 15 course of action permissible within the limits of the standard. “Can” and “cannot” 16 are used for statements of possibility and capability, whether material, physical, or 17

、causal. 18 5. Footnotes appear at various points in this Standard to elaborate and further clarify 19 items discussed in the body of the Standard. 20 6. Unless indicated otherwise, this Standard presents numbers in decimal form. 21 Binary numbers are distinguished in the text by the use of single qu

、otation marks. 22 7. The following operators define mathematical operations: 23 indicates multiplication. 24 x indicates the largest integer less than or equal to x: 1.1 = 1, 1.0 = 1. 25 x indicates the smallest integer greater or equal to x: 1.1 = 2, 2.0 = 2. 26 |x| indicates the absolute value of

、x: |-17| = 17, |17| = 17. 27 indicates exclusive OR (modulo-2 addition). 28 min (x, y) indicates the minimum of x and y. 29 max (x, y) indicates the maximum of x and y. 30 x mod y indicates the remainder after dividing x by y: x mod y = x - (y x/y). 31 weight(x) indicates the number of 1s in the bin

、ary representation of x. 32 indicates binary right shift operation. 33 indicates binary left shift operation. 34 8. Mobile stations include 19 portable units (e.g., hand-held personal units) and units installed in vehicles. The mobile 20 station consists of two parts ME and UIM. 21 1.3 8Numeric Informa

、tion 22 23 Numeric information is used to describe the operation of the mobile station. The following 24 subscripts are used to clarify the use of the numeric information: 25 “s” indicates a value stored in the mobile stations temporary memory. 26 “sv” indicates a stored value that varies as the mob

、ile station processes various tasks. 27 “sl” indicates the stored limits on values that vary. 28 “r” indicates a value received by the mobile station over a forward analog control 29 channel or a CDMA Forward Channel. 30 “p” indicates a value set in the mobile stations permanent security and identif
