This document proposes or references at least one measurement procedure for each technical requirement. However, these procedures are not exclusive. Any

DEFINITIONS For the purposes of this Standard, the following definitions apply. Idle: A state of the line when all connected CPE are On-Hook. In-Use: A state of the line when

44、at least one connected CPE is Off-Hook. Line State: The condition of the Tip and Ring interface. It can be either In-Use or Idle. Off-Hook: The state of the CPE when the hook-switch is closed. Refers to the state of a particular CPE rather than the line state. On-Hook: The state of the CPE when the

45、hook-switch is open. Refers to the state of a particular CPE rather than the line state. Ringing Cycle: The interval from the start of the first On Period to the end of the Long Silent Interval. On Period: The interval during a Ringing Cycle in which the ring signal is applied to Tip and Ring. Off P

46、eriod: The interval during a Ringing Cycle in which the ring signal is removed from Tip and Ring. Long Silent Interval: The extended interval of no ring signal after the last On Period of a Ringing Cycle.
