26、e Technical Committees of the TIA and the standards coordinating committees of the TIA standards board. Members of the committees serve voluntarily and without commission. The companies that they represent are not necessari-ly members of the TIA. The standards developed within the TIA represent a co

27、nsensus of the broad expertise on the subject. This expertise comes from within the TIA as well as those out-side of the TIA that have an expressed interest. The viewpoint expressed at the time that this standard was approved was from the editors experience and the state of the art at that time. Use

This Addendum has been prepared by the TR-42.6 Subcommittee and approved by TR-42.6, the TR-42 Engineering Committee and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). 29、06-B-1 1 1 SCOPE This Addendum specifies revised core and auxiliary functions of automated infrastructure man-agement systems and replaces clause 13 of ANSI/TIA-606-B. 2 DEFINITIONS, ACRONYMS, AND ABBREVIATIONS 2.1 General The generic definitions in this clause have been formulated for use by the en

30、tire family of tele-communications infrastructure standards. Specific requirements are found in the normative clauses of this Standard. 2.2 Definition of terms For the purpose of this Addendum the following definitions apply. AIM-enabled port: Port which is able to automatically detect the insertion

31、 or removal of a cord and process that event as part of an automated infrastructure management system. AIM hardware: Combination of patch panels and controllers that are designed to automatically detect the insertion or removal of cords, to record connectivity information, and to exchange connectivi

32、ty information with AIM software. AIM system: Integrated hardware and software system that automatically detects the insertion and removal of cords, documents the cabling infrastructure including connected equipment en-abling management of the infrastructure and data exchange with other systems. app

33、lication programming interface: Set of commands, functions, and protocols that specify how software components should interact. basic connectivity configuration: List of information including, but not restricted to, number and type of ports, number of slots, expansion cards, MAC and IP addresses. ca

34、bling connectivity information: Combination of connection information automatically de-tected by AIM and additional cabling infrastructure information from various sources. connection information: The record of an event generated by the insertion or removal of a connector at an AIM-enabled port. dis

35、coverable equipment: Equipment with a network address. end device: Equipment that is either the source or the destination of a message on a net-worked system. infrastructure (telecommunications): A collection of those telecommunications components, excluding equipment, that together provide the basi

36、c support for the distribution of information within a building or campus. managed network distribution equipment: Discoverable network distribution equipment that uses communications protocols such as the Simple Network Management Protocol to exchange management information. network distribution eq

37、uipment: Electronic equipment that provides connectivity and supports data exchange between end-devices. non-discoverable equipment: Equipment without a network address. work order: Set of one or more actions that should be performed by a technician or user of the system. 38、nyms and abbreviations The following acronyms and abbreviations are used in this Addendum: AIM automated infrastructure management API application programming interface SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol 13 AUTOMATED INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS 13.1 General Automated infrastructure manage

39、ment systems should be implemented and maintained with an appropriate level of operational discipline, including an auditing regimen to ensure ongoing ac-curacy. 13.2 Functional elements An AIM system shall include the following two functional elements: a) Hardware that automatically detects the ins

40、ertion and removal of cords b) Software that: i) Collects and stores the resulting connection information ii) Relates the connection information to cabling connectivity information iii) Relates the cabling connectivity information to information from other sources iv) Makes the connection informatio

41、n accessible to either an authorized user or to other systems It is important to note that although the initial detection of connectivity is generally accomplished through electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical or optical means, the different functions and features using this data are implemente

42、d in software. The software used for AIM systems shall include either application program interfaces (APIs) or data exchange formats to allow data from the AIM system to be shared with other systems used by the organization. This is an important aspect for enhancing and automating the management and

43、 operational functions in the building and data centers. 13.3 System requirements An AIM system shall be able to: a) Automatically detect connectivity between AIM-enabled panel ports b) Automatically detect connectivity between AIM-enabled panel ports and other equipment (with AIM-enabled ports) or

44、document and/or infer connectivity between AIM-enabled panel ports and other equipment (without AIM-enabled ports) c) Monitor the connections and disconnections of a) and b) ANSI/TIA-606-B-1 3 13.4 Functional requirements 13.4.1 Documentation and maintenance of information within AIM software Once c

45、onfigured, an AIM system shall be able to: a) Accommodate identifiers conforming to ANSI/TIA-606-B in the ANSI/TIA-606-A compati-ble and ISO/IEC TR 14763-2-1 compatible formats b) Record the connections between elements within the cabling infrastructure c) Automatically detect, document and monitor

46、the presence of discoverable equipment connected to the network and i) The basic connectivity configuration of managed network distribution equipment ii) The network-related information of end devices d) Automatically update records when any monitored connections (including those of 13.3) are modifi

47、ed e) Manually document asset information for non-discoverable equipment f) Document the physical location of the network distribution equipment connected to the network g) Document and/or infer connectivity between non-AIM enabled ports and other equip-ment h) Document the presence and physical loc

48、ation of AIM hardware i) Identify and track the physical location of end devices connected to the network j) Maintain a history of events relating to items a) to i) k) Enable the display of mapped items documented within the AIM software to a physical location on building plans and layouts 13.4.2 Ma

49、nagement and usage of information within AIM software An AIM system shall be able to: a) Enable a user to define the circumstances in which an event generates an alert b) Enable a user to view graphical representation of connectivity (circuit trace) and other re-lational information for the items documented within the AIM software c) Provide recommendations on the cabling connectivity tasks required within work orders for service provision d) Enable a user to manage work orders related to items documented within the AIM soft-ware i) Create ii) Assign or re-assign iii) Schedule or re
