23、 Wireless Paging Teleservice (WPT) The Wireless Paging Teleservice (WPT) conveys short textual messages (up to 63 characters) to a Short Message Entity (SME) for display, storage, or both. The character set is defined as follows: Uppercase letters: A-Z. Digits: 0-9, *, and # Symbols, as follows: “ !
24、 $ % ? _ Control characters: STX Start of text. This character is used as the last character of a message to link this message to the next message sent over a Base Station to Mobile Station radio link (air or Uminterface). This character is reserved for use by the air interface. This character must
25、not appear as the last character in message sent on the network. ETX End of text. This character is used to fill messages that do not use all of the available characters in a message. This may be required when the characters are not octet aligned. For messages requiring immediate delivery, only one
26、message delivery attempt is made per service request. For messages not requiring immediate delivery, one or more delivery attempts are made until an acknowledgment is received. For the purposes of display management and interworking, WPT messages may be assumed to have the following default attribut
27、es: User Response Code with no contents. Message Updating value of New (do not overwrite previously received messages). Validity Period value of Indefinite (message should be retained until manually deleted by the recipient). Priority Indicator value of Normal (message sent without priority). Alert

30、al Procedures with Successful Outcome Authorization WPT may be provided after prearrangement with the service provider. Deauthorization WPT may withdrawn at the subscribers request or for administrative reasons. Registration WPT has no registration. Deregistration WPT has no deregistration. Activati
31、on WPT shall be activated upon authorization. Deactivation WPT shall be deactivated upon deauthorization. Invocation WPT is invoked by a request to send a message to a WPT subscriber. Normal Operation with Successful Outcome If the request for message delivery is accepted, the message is forwarded t
32、oward the destination SME. The message is stored, displayed or both, if the destination SME receives the message. If the destination SME is not available, the message may be discarded.
