19、or surfaces of steel enclosures of outdoor-use electrical equipment for protection of themetal against atmospheric corrosion.1.2 These requirements cover organic coatings consisting of one or more coats and their system ofapplication to steel or zinc-coated steel with specified pretreatment, applica

20、tion, bake or cure schedule, and minimum dry-film thickness.1.3 The final acceptance of a coating is dependent upon its use in a complete product that complies withthe requirements in the standard applicable to such a product.1.4 The requirements may be applied to other organic or nonmetallic coating

21、s if found to be appropriate.1.5 The flammability or toxicity risks associated with the coating materials in any form, or the acceptabilityof the materials for uses other than indicated, are not within the scope of these requirements.1.6 A product that contains features, characteristics, components,

22、 materials, or systems new or differentfrom those covered by the requirements in this standard, and that involves a risk of fire, electric shock, orinjury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-productrequirements as determined necessary to maintain the acce

A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, orsystems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this standard cannot be judged to comply withthis standard. Where considered appropriate, r

Specimens with the highest pigment to vehicle or resin ratio, lowest pigm

If specific color pigments are known to have unusual orcritical properties, they are also to be tested.5.3 Test specimens are to be 4 inches (102 mm) wide and 12 inches (305 mm) long, with the thicknessof the base metal being repre

Two of the specimens are to be scribed in accordance with the Method for Evaluation ofPainted or Coated Specimens Subjected to

33、 Corrosive Environments, ASTM D1654-92. A single 8 inch(203.2 mm) diagonal V-cut scribe running lengthwise across the specimen is to be used. The scribe is tobe free of burrs and is not to contact the edges. The scribing tool used is to be either:a) A carbide tipped tool Style E, with 1/64-inch (0.4
