4、Tc,where a 3.31 mm2(12 AWG) grounding conductor may be used with 5.26 mm2(10 AWG) circuitconductors4.1.1.8.2A For flexible cord or cable with conductor sizes 6.63 mm2(9 AWG), the grounding conductorshall be 5.26 mm2(10 AWG).4.1.1.8.3 For flexible cord or cable with conductor sizes 8.37 33.6 mm2(8 2

5、AWG) and larger, thereduction of the grounding conductor by not more than two AWG sizes from the largest ungrounded circuitconductor shall be permitted (e.g., a cord having an 8.37 mm2(8 AWG) ungrounded circuit conductor mayhave a minimum 5.26 mm2(10 AWG) grounding conductor).4.1.1.8.3A For Electric

7、3 (300 400) 26.7 (3)253 (500) 33.6 (2)4.1.1.8.4 A grounded circuit conductor larger (oversized neutral) than the largest ungrounded circuitconductor shall be permitted.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:The grounding conductors described in Section 4.1.1.8 were based on the requirements for flexible cordsand ca

8、bles up to 2 AWG. When electric vehicle cables were added to UL 62 in sizes above 2 AWG, thesize of the grounding conductors was not addressed. The sizes of the grounding conductors shown inTable XX are based on the ampacity values in Table 400.5(A)(2) and 250.122 in the NEC.UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL

When theodd AWG sized conductors were added to UL 62, this section was overlooked. Based on the establishedrequirements, a cable co

10、ntaining 10 AWG circuit conductors would require a 10 AWG groundingconductor and a cable containing 8 AWG circuit conductors would also allow a 10 AWG groundingconductor. Therefore, it is logical to allow a 10 AWG grounding conductor for cables containing 9 AWGcircuit conductors.Copyright 2015 Under
