13、an those described in 5.1 shall have materials in thicknesses describedin Table 5.1 and with temperature ratings appropriate for the specific construction of the sprinkler systemswire in which they are to be used. The materials shall be evaluated for the requested temperature ratingas described in L
14、ong-Term Aging Section of the Reference Standard for Electric Wires, Cables, andFlexible Cords, UL 1581. Investigation of the electrical, mechanical, and physical characteristics of theseinsulated conductors shall show these conductors to be comparable to the conductors described in 5.1.The investig

Several shields may be used i
19、n a given cable.7.2 A shield shall be of metal and shall consist of one or more of the following:a) A laminated shield tape of polymeric material and metal(s) with or without a bare metal-coated or uncoated (uncoated not acceptable with an aluminum-faced tape) copper drain wire incontact with the me
20、tal(s) part of the tape. The tape may be applied with the metal(s) side in orout. The size of a drain wire is not specified. A drain wire may be solid or stranded.b) A corrugated or smooth single-metal or bi-metal tape applied longitudinally, helically, orinterlocked with or without a bare metal-coa
21、ted or uncoated (uncoated not acceptable with analuminum tape) copper drain wire in contact with the metal. The tape may be polymer-coatedon one side if there is a drain wire or on both sides if a drain wire is not used. Any inward-facing coating may bond to the insulation but, where the metal tape

31、ingle conductor and of the complete cablethat have been in a cold chamber for 4 hours at a temperature of -25.0 2.0C (-13.0 3.6F)using the methods described in the Standard for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL83. The complete cable shall be wrapped for 180 degrees around a mandrel whose
32、diameter isfive times the diameter of the finished cable. The single conductor shall be wrapped for sixturns around a mandrel whose diameter is the same as the diameter of the finished singleconductor.g) Crushing Resistance An average of no less than 225 lbf or 1000 N or 102 kgf shall berequired to
33、crush solid 14 AWG Type TW, THW, and THWN wires until contact is establishedbetween the conductor and the earth-grounded flat steel plate or steel rod when ten specimensof the finished wire are subjected to the crushing procedure described in the CrushingResistance Test of UL 1581.DECEMBER 28, 2015

36、 on the outer surface of the wire bymeans of indelible ink printing or indent or raised printing. The ink printing shall be investigated fordurability as specified in the Durability of Indelible-Ink Printing test in the Reference Standard for ElectricalWires, Cables, and Flexible Cords, UL 1581. The
37、 sequence is not specified. A marker tape is appropriatein addition to the surface printing. Other information where added, shall not confuse or mislead and shallnot conflict with these requirements. See 12.1 for date marking.a) Manufacturers and Factory Identification The name of the Manufacturer,
