13、hese products are intended for use in accordance with the Federal Radiation Control for Health andSafety Act of 1968, the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, and the Code of Federal Regulations, Part1040, 21 CFR, Chapter 1, Subchapter J, Radiological Health.1.3 These products are intended only for
14、use in a restricted access area, or an area which incorporatessuitable site protection to prevent unintended exposure of untrained or unqualified persons to ultravioletradiation. It is the responsibility of the designated parties at the final installation site to confirm that properinstallation, tra
15、ining and control means have been implemented.1.4 These products are intended to be operated only in the presence of qualified professional operatorswho have been trained on mandatory operation procedures for proper use of the equipment.1.5 The physiological effects of the ultraviolet radiation emit
16、ted by this equipment have not beenevaluated. The physiological effects of substances used in lamps employed in these products have notbeen evaluated. Compatibility of the curing equipment with materials and the physiological effects of anyby-products of the curing process have not been evaluated.1.

25、terial so that the lamp cannot be ionized.5.5 HIGH-PRESSURE LAMP A lamp in which the Contained Atmospheric Energy (CAE) equals orexceeds 3.7 lbf-ft (5 J) cold at (50C (122F) or less).5.6 IRRADIANCE The radiant-power-incident on a surface at a specified location and orientationrelative to the radiati

31、f security by the authority responsible for thelocation.5.11 SPECTRAL TRANSMITTANCE The spectral irradiance transmitted through protective eyeweardivided by the spectral irradiance incident on the protective eyewear.5.12 ULTRAVIOLET CURING EQUIPMENT Equipment that directly generates ultraviolet radi
32、ation forthe purpose of curing paint, primer, or similar ultraviolet-sensitive compounds.5.13 USER See Qualified Professional Operator (5.9).CONSTRUCTION6 General6.1 Equipment intended for use in a Hazardous Location as defined in the National Electrical Code(NEC), NFPA 70, shall comply with the req
33、uirements in this Outline of Investigation and additionalexamination and tests to determine acceptability for use in Hazardous Locations.6.2 Only materials that are acceptable for the particular use shall be used in this equipment. Ultravioletcuring equipment shall be made and finished with the degr
34、ee of uniformity and grade of workmanshippracticable in a well-equipped factory.7 Frame and Enclosure7.1 General7.1.1 The frame and enclosure of ultraviolet curing equipment shall be constructed to resist the abusesencountered during intended use. The construction shall preclude total and partial co
35、llapse with theattendant reduction of spacings, loosening or displacement of parts, and other defects, which alone or incombination constitute a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.7.1.2 The equipment shall be provided with an enclosure of material acceptable for the application. Thee

38、ditionsof intended use;g) For a nonmetallic enclosure exposed to ultraviolet radiation, resistance to degradation fromexposure to ultraviolet radiation;h) For a nonmetallic enclosure, all of the factors are to be considered with respect to thermalaging; andi) For a sheet-metal enclosure, in addition
