23、te for a detector unit shall be 4.0 failures per million hours as calculated by afull part stress analysis prediction as described in MIL-HDBK 217 or 3.5 failures per million hours ascalculated by a simplified parts count reliability prediction as described in MIL-HDBK 217, or equivalent,see Annex D
24、 in the Standard for Smoke Detectors for Fire Alarm Systems, UL 268. A Ground Fixed(GF) environment is to be used for all calculations. When actual equivalent data is available from themanufacturer, it is permissible that it be used in lieu of the projected data for the purpose of determiningreliabi
25、lity.4.2 Any component whose failure results in a trouble signal shall not be included in the failure ratecalculation.4.3 A reliable light emitting diode (LED) of a smoke detector employing a photocell-light assembly shallhave a predicted failure rate of not greater than 2.5 failures per million hou
26、rs. See 18.1 and 18.2 in theStandard for Smoke Detectors for Fire Alarm Systems, UL 268.4.4 An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) employed in a detector shall have a predicted failurerate of not greater than 2.5 failures per million hours. The failure rate is to be determined througheval
27、uation of data in a 3000 hour burn-in test, or equivalent.4.5 Video image smoke detector, components - monitoring for integrity4.5.1 The fuses of a product shall be electrically supervised to indicate rupture of the fuse by an audibletrouble signal when the fault prevents normal operation of the pro
28、duct.Exception: Supplementary products where the fault in no way affects the normal operation of the systemexcept for omission of supplementary features.4.5.2 Opening or shorting of capacitors shall either have no adverse effect on normal operation or beindicated by a trouble or an audible alarm sig
29、nal.Exception: Where it is not practical to have a component failure indicated, a reliable component shall beused. The reliability of the component may be based on de-rating or on reliability data recorded for theparticular component. Suitable sources are:a) The capacitor derating parameters specifi
