7、hein-service functional operation of multi-sensor detectors that may include, but not be limited to the integraluse or mutually exclusive use of heat detection, smoke detection, carbon monoxide/gas detectioncapabilities. These apparatus may consist of pressurized gas, liquid, solids or combination t

8、hereof toproduce the necessary simulant.1.2 These products are not intended to assess the performance of the detector in accordance with theapplicable Standard, but are intended to verify functional operation of the detector as defined by thedetector manufacturer.1.3 Multi-detector test apparatus ar

9、e intended for handling and use by a qualified professional.1.4 These products are not intended for use in hazardous locations.1.5 These products have not been assessed for use in oxygen rich environments.1.6 Hazards and/or applications of the materials, chemicals, and/or pressurized container used

15、 a component of a product covered by this outline shall comply with therequirements for that standard. See Annex A for a list of standards covering components generally usedin the products covered by this outline.2.1.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involve

16、s a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in theproduct covered by this statement orb) Is superseded by a requirement in this standard.2.1.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions ofuse.2.1.4 Specific compo

17、nents are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performancecapabilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certaintemperatures not exceeding specified limits, and shall be used only under those specific conditions.2.2 Units of measurement2.2.1

18、 The metric unit shall be designated as the official unit for purposes of this standard. Where valuesof measurement are specified in both SI and English units, either unit is used. In cases of dispute, themetric unit shall be used.2.3 Reference publications2.3.1 Where reference is made to other publ

19、ications, such reference shall be considered to refer to thelatest edition and all amendments published to that edition up to the time when this Outline was published.CONSTRUCTION3 General3.1 A multi- detector test apparatus shall be provided with at least one of two functional test elementswhich ma

20、y include but may not be limited to the carbon monoxide, smoke, and heat as components toassess the functional operation of a multi-sensor detector. 21、L NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULPERFORMANCE4 General4.1 Each end product multi-sensor detector intended for use with the multi-detector test apparatus shallbe subject to all of the applicable tests as defined within this outline. The requirements wi

22、thin this outlinevalidate the functional operation of each multi-detector test apparatus and the multi-sensor detectorperformance is assessed in accordance with the defined limits for the applicable performancerequirements within the standards referenced in 4.2. Sensitivity and performance for each

23、sensortechnology is defined within each standard as referenced in 4.2.4.2 The multi-sensor detectors shall be performance tested before and after each performance testreferenced in this outline and shall comply with the applicable performance requirements referenced in theapplicable Standards or pub

See electrical supervision test, Section 16.5 Normal Operation Test5.1 The multi-detector test apparatus shall be configured and operated as specified by the

29、apparatusoperating instructions.5.2 When using the apparatus, it shall be used within the recommended operating specifications of theapparatus and within the operating specifications of the compatible multi-sensor detector.5.3 The production or simulation of smoke, carbon monoxide (CO) and/or heat f

30、rom the apparatus, shallresult in an alarm initiation from the detector.5.4 The multi-sensor detector shall result in the same type of alarm signal as required for the specificdetection/detector, operational characteristics referenced in 4.2 for the specific sensor/detector publisheddocument and def

31、ined performance criteria.5.5 When operating the multi-detector test apparatus with the multi-sensor detector, the sensitivityperformance of the detector shall not be compromised. Following each operation or performance test onthe apparatus and detector, respectively, the applicable sensitivity test

32、 per the applicable standard, shallbe conducted to verify the operation of the apparatus and that the sensitivity of the detector has not beencompromised. Functional testing to verify all claims of operation are to be made on the apparatus, todetermine that none of the modes or principles of operati
