This equipment is intended for installation in accordance with themanufacturers installation instructions and the applicable requirements of the following standards:a) Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, ANSI/NFPA 13.b) Standard for the Installation of Sprink

13、neral5.1 A corrosion indicator shall be constructed for a minimum rated pressure of 175 psig (1.2 MPa).5.2 Steel piping used for the body of a corrosion indicating device shall conform to Schedule 10 or 40steel pipe made in accordance with Standard Specification for Black and Hot-Dipped Zinc-Coated(
14、Galvanized) Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe for Fire Protection Use, ASTM A795, or StandardSpecification for Pipe, Steel, Black and Hot-Dipped, Zinc-Coated, Welded and Seamless, ASTM A53 orStandard Specification for Electric-Resistance-Welded Steel Pipe, ASTM A 135/A 135M.5.3 When a corrosion indicat
15、or uses a thin wall section of steel piping described in 5.1 to provide a meansof indicating substantial internal corrosion, the thin wall section shall comply with the following:a) A nominal thickness not greater than 30 percent of the nominal wall thickness of thesprinkler piping for which the ind
16、icator is intended to be used.b) A nominal thickness that will result in a hoop stress applied to the thinned section that is notmore than 50 percent of the minimum yield strength of the material.c) A thickness tolerance of not greater than 0.005 inch.5.4 Pressure switches shall comply with the appl
17、icable construction requirements in the Standard forAlarm Accessories for Automatic Water-Supply Control Valves for Fire Protection Service, UL 753.5.5 Accessory equipment shall comply with the construction requirements applicable to the device and itsintended use.5.6 Threaded end connections shall

20、ll comply with the applicable performance requirements in the Standard forAlarm Accessories for Automatic Water-Supply Control Valves for Fire Protection Service, UL 753.6.2 Accessory equipment shall comply with the performance requirements applicable to the device andits intended use.7 Leakage Test
21、7.1 A corrosion indicator shall be capable of withstanding without leakage through the body or at jointsan internal hydrostatic pressure of two times the rated working pressure, applied for a period of 1 minute.7.2 During this test, a thin wall section of pipe used as an indicator is to be perforate
22、d so as to apply thetest pressure the entire body of the device.7.3 A representative sample(s) of the corrosion indicator is be filled with water and vented of air. Thepressure is to be gradually increased at a rate not exceeding 300 psig (2.07 MPa) per minute until therequired test pressure is achi
23、eved and held for 1 minute. Visual observations are to be made for leakagethrough the body.8 Strength of Body Test8.1 A corrosion indicator shall withstand without rupture a hydrostatic pressure of four times the ratedworking pressure applied for a period of 5 minutes.8.2 During this test, a thin wa
24、ll section of pipe used as an indicator is to be perforated so as to apply thetest pressure the entire body of the device.8.3 A representative sample(s) of the corrosion indicator is to be filled with water and vented of air. Thepressure is to be gradually increased at a rate not exceeding 300 psig

26、ked with the following:a) The manufacturers or private labelers name or identifying symbol,b) A distinctive product identification designation,c) Pressure rating, andd) Nominal size.9.2 If a corrosion indicator is manufactured at more than one factory, each unit shall have a distinctivepermanent mar
27、king to identify it as the product of a particular factory.INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS10 General10.1 Steel sprinkler pipe corrosion indicators shall be provided with installation and maintenanceinstructions that include at least the following items:a) Detailed instructions for properly
28、 installing and maintaining the equipment.b) Reference to the need for periodic or continuous monitoring of the corrosion indicator todetermine its functional status.c) Operating temperature ranged) The set pressure of the pressure switch when used.e) Type of steel pipe for which the corrosion indic
