The use is limited to high pressure cylinders containing onlymixtu
7、res of non-toxic flammable materials for laboratory or analyzer use in which some of the constituentsin the high pressure cylinder require heating above room temperature to ensure a uniform gas mixture.These products are intended for use in specialized commercial and industrial facilities, where saf
8、eoperations are addressed by responsible parties at the installation. These considerations include ambienttemperature control, assessment of the suitability of the tank and its contents to be used with the heaters,safety coordination associated with any releases due to elevated pressure, and similar
9、 aspects of safeusage. Refer to the US Code of Federal Regulations, Title 29, Subtitle B, Chapter XVII, Part 1910,Subpart H, Section 1910.101, Compressed Gases (general requirements), regarding the control and useof compressed gas cylinders.1.2 These requirements cover electrically heated insulated
10、covers intended for use in accordance withthe National Electrical Code, NFPA 70 and the Canadian Electrical Code, C22.1. They are also intendedfor use with Compressed Gas Association CGA P-1 by having a maximum limiting temperature of 125 F1.3 Covers are made in a variety of shapes and sizes for dir
11、ect application to a cylinder. A cover ofunusual size or odd shape is to be judged on its compliance with the requirements in this outline and onfurther examination and tests to determine its acceptability for the intended use and possible misuses.1.4 These requirements do not apply to units intende

14、t code orstandard.CONSTRUCTION5 General5.1 Electrically heated insulated covers for compressed gas cylinders for use in Hazardous (Classified)Locations as defined in the National Electrical Code (NEC) shall comply with the electrical equipmentexplosion protection standard(s) found in UL Category AAI
15、Z for Class I, Division 1 or Class I, Division 2or AANZ for Class I, Zone 1 or Class I, Zone 2, as is applicable.5.2 The heating equipment shall comply with UL 499. Refer to UL 499 sections 5 31.5.3 Electrically heated insulated covers for use in Class I, Division 1 or Class I, Zone 1 shall bedeterm
16、ined to be electrostatically dissipative in accordance with UL 1203, Test for Accumulation of StaticElectricity, section 147 and be bonded to the electrical earth ground.5.4 The controls for the electrical heating element(s) shall include a temperature limiting circuit to preventtemperatures from ex

20、ufacturers name, trade name, or other descriptive marking by which theorganization responsible for the product may be identified.2) Designation of the hazardous location in which the heater is intended to be used forexample, “Class _, Group _.” In addition, a product for Division 2 only shall bear t
21、hewording: “Division 2,” for example, “Class ., Division 2, Group .”3) A catalog or designation number to specifically identify the heater.4) Maximum operating temperature or temperature Class based on the maximum temperatureattained in the temperature tests, identified as “Operating Temperature _,”
22、 or “OperatingTemperature Code _,”5) For a heater marked for use in an elevated ambient, the operating temperature or operatingtemperature code shall be based on operation in the elevated ambient for which the heater ismarked. A heater having a maximum external operating temperature of not more than
