17、his Outline as applicable.6.2 DC microgrid circuit breakers shall be considered as single poles for individual sources or loads thatmay use multiple sets of contacts in series, unless marked in accordance with 9.1.4.8 of UL 489. 21、n.7.4 When a DC microgrid circuit breaker is not marked line and load in accordance with 11.8, forSequences X and Y, one sample of the sample set, or an additional sample for each test set, shall beprovided and tested with opposing line and load connections than that required in 7.3. When only onesa
22、mple constitutes a set, a second sample is required for opposing line-load connection tests.Exception: A circuit breaker that is required to be wired in series such that the same number of poles(contacts) are exposed to the current in both directions simultaneously, testing in both the forward andre
23、verse direction is not required.7.5 When a DC microgrid circuit breaker has interchangeable trip units, one sample of the frame andthree samples of the trip unit shall constitute a set.7.6 For the purposes of this Outline, testing in the forward direction requires the positive terminal of thesource
24、to be connected to the ON (top) end line terminal of the device. Wiring in the reverse directionrequires the positive terminal of the source to be wired to the OFF (bottom) end load terminal of thedevice.7.7 Each pole of a multipole DC microgrid circuit breaker shall be tested individually unless ma
25、rked inaccordance with 11.8 and investigated in accordance with 7.4.7.8 For those tests where the contacts will open at rated voltage, a DC microgrid circuit breaker intendedfor use on a system having one conductor grounded shall be tested with the enclosure or mountingsurface connected to the negat

27、ditions indicatedin 7.1.7 of UL 489 at the nominal rated voltage specified by the manufacturer, except that the prospectivecurrent shall be at the standard interrupting rating of the device. The operations shall be O CO O.Exception: The Interrupting Test may instead be conducted at a higher value as
28、 tabulated in Table 8.1of UL 489.9 Dielectric Voltage-Withstand Test9.1 DC microgrid circuit breakers shall be subjected to the Dielectric Voltage-Withstand Test specified in7.1.9 of UL 489 at the voltages specified in 9.2.9.2 The test potential shall be the following values for alternating-current
29、testing:a) 500 volts ac For DC microgrid products rated not more than 50 volts dc; andb) 1000 volts ac plus twice the rated voltage For DC microgrid products rated greater than 50volts dc.9.3 The test specified in 9.2 may be conducted with a dc source except the test potential shall be equalto a val
30、ue of 1.414 times that required in 9.2.RATINGS10 General10.1 In addition to the requirements of Section 8 of UL 489, a DC microgrid circuit breaker shall complywith 10.2 10.4.10.2 A DC microgrid circuit breaker shall be rated in amperes, interrupting current, and volts.10.3 A DC microgrid circuit br
31、eaker shall be rated for one or more one or more of the voltage ratings ofUL 489. “Slash” ratings are not permitted.10.4 The interrupting rating of a DC microgrid circuit breaker shall be a value no greater than theprospective current used during the Interrupting Test and shall be a value as tabulat

41、ERFORMANCE13 General13.1 The representative device selection shall be as specified in Table 7.1. DC microgrid switches shallcomply with the general performance requirements as specified in Section 11 of UL 489 except asmodified by Table 7.1, Sections79asapplicable, and 13 15 of this Outline.13.2 For
42、 a DC microgrid switch that is identical in ratings and construction to a DC microgrid circuitbreaker that complies with the requirements of this Outline, and in which the release element is eitheromitted or made inactive, only the Short Circuit Withstand Test sequence is required to be conducted.13
43、.3 For a DC microgrid switch that is identical in ratings and construction to a DC microgrid circuitbreaker that complies with the requirements of this Outline and in which the release element is eitheromitted or made inactive, except for the instantaneous release, no additional testing is required.
44、14 Short Circuit Current Withstand Test14.1 A DC microgrid switch shall perform successfully when operated under conditions indicated in 11.1.7of UL 489 except as modified by 14.2. The test shall be conducted at the nominal rated voltage and shortcircuit current rating in accordance with Table 10.1
45、of this Outline or Table 12.1 of UL 489.14.2 A DC microgrid switch shall withstand the designated current until the overcurrent protective deviceopens. For a DC microgrid switch not marked as requiring a specific DC microgrid circuit breaker or fuse,the test current shall be maintained for 0.050 sec

48、aterthan that value of the prospective current used during the test in Section 14 of this Outline or 11.1.7.2 ofUL 489.MARKINGS17 General17.1 A DC microgrid switch shall be provided with the applicable required markings specified in Section13 of UL 489, except as modified by 11.2, 11.3, 11.5 11.11,
49、and this Section.17.2 A DC microgrid switch shall be marked with a short circuit current rating not greater than theprospective current used in Section 8.
