、 Safety, items (i), (j) and (k) are not applicable. 10 Electrical Circuits This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 11 Rotating Output This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 12 Surface Temperatures This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 13 Accessibility of Moving Parts This Section of Part 1 is applicabl
、e. 14 Mechanical Strength This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 15 Construction This Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 5.14 This paragraph of Part 1 is not applicable. Add paragraph: 15.101 A plate jointer shall be provided with a guard that automatically retracts to the closed posi
、tion when not in use. There shall not be provision for locking the guard in the open position. The guard shall be constructed so that is stays in contact with the workpiece when the tool is retracted, or when released from its full open position it shall retract to its fully closed position in a tim
、e not more than 0.3 s. Compliance is checked by inspection, and the following tests. One sample of the tool is to be conditioned by making 50 plunge cuts into soft pine wood that has been stored indoors for 72 h prior to the sawing. The tool is then to be conditioned for 24 h in a relative humidity
、of 90 percent (plus 5, minus O percent) at a temperature of 32 I 2C (89.6 I3.6“F). Following conditioning the closing time is to be measured. JUNE 15,2001 SUBJECT 7700-2-37 7 Exception: The tool is not required to be conditioned if it is obvious that the accumulation of sawdust will not afect the cl
、osure time of the guard. The plate jointer is to be oriented so that the guard will impact the floor when dropped from a height of Im onto a concrete surface. The closing time is measured. The plate jointer is to be oriented in the hand carry position and dropped from a height of I m (3.3 ft) onto a
、 concrete surface. Following the impact, the closing time is to be measured. 16 Noise Emission This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 17 Resistance to Rusting This Section of Part 1 is applicable. 18 Accessories and Attachments This Section of Part 1 is applicable. a SUBJECT 7700-2-37 JUNE 15,2001 No Text on This Page
