37、lishedbythemanufacturerthroughouttheirforeseeablelifetimeandbesufficientlyfirmanddurable towithstandthemechanicalandthermalstressestowhichtheywillbesubjected. 4.3Ingress Protection 4.3.1General Thedegreeofingressprotection(IP)providedbytheouterenclosuresofequipmentdependsuponitsintended dutyandthety
38、peofenvironmentitisdesignedtobeusedin.Anappropriaterating,accordingtoIPcategory1,as specifiedin13.4ofEN60529:1991,shallbedeterminedaspartoftheignitionhazardassessment(see4.1)and shallbeabletopreventforeignobjectsorwaterenteringtheequipmentwhichcould: i) reducetheignitionleveltoalowervalue,byforexamp
39、le,allowingcombustibledust,withalower ignitiontemperaturethanthepotentiallyexplosiveatmosphere,toformalayeronhotinternal componentsorpartsoftheequipment;and/or ii) makecontactwithmovingparts,resultinginthecreationofapotentialignitionsource,unsafe malfunctionorfire. Thefollowingsubclauses,4.3.3to4.3.
40、5below,specifytheminimumdegreeofingressprotection(IP)forenclosures usedinthecircumstancesdescribed. 4.3.2 Inthecaseofequipmentintendedforuseingas/vapouratmospheres,whereentryofforeignobjectscan causeignition,butentryofdustisharmless,entryoffallingobjectsshallbeprevented. 4.3.3 Inthecaseofequipmentin
41、tendedforuseingas/vapouratmospheres,wheretheentryofdustsorliquids couldcausemalfunctionleadingtoanignitionsource,theenclosureshallbeatleastIP54. 4.3.4 Inthecaseofequipmentintendedforuseinpotentiallyexplosivedustatmospheres,whereingressofdust canresultinanignitionsourceorfire,theenclosureshallbeatlea

NOTE Adevicetomonitortemperaturesandswitchoffequipmentshouldbe
