21、t repr- sents tous les Comits nationaux sintressant ces questions, expriment dans la plus grande mesure possible un accord international sur les sujets examins. 2) Ces dcisions constituent des recommandations internationales et sont agres comme telles par les Comits nationaux. 3) Dans le but dencour

26、arthquake vibration and shock FOREWORD The formal decisions or agreements of the IEC on technical matters, prepared by Technical Committees on which all the National Committees having a special interest therein are represented, express, as nearly as possible, an international consensus of opinion on

27、 the subjects dea 1 t with. They have the form of recommendations for international use and they are accepted by the National Committees in that sense. In order to promote international unification, the IEC expresses the wish that all National Committees should adopt the text of the IEC recommendati

28、on for their national rules in so far as national con- ditions will permit. Any divergence between the IEC recommendation and the corresponding national rules should, as far as possible, be clearly indicated in the latter. This part of International Standard IEC 721 has been prepared by IEC Technica

29、l Committee No. 75: Classification of environmental conditions. Les conditions correspondant aux structures sont signalises mais leurs descriptions sont limites aux cas gnraux. 2 Rfrence normative La norme suivante contient des dispositions qui, par suite de la rfrence qui y est faite, const

39、nt des vibrations qui peuvent tre modlises comme des processus alatoires. Elles peuvent affecter les produits et leur imposer des contraintes de diverses faons. Cet article est destin fournir des informations sur le comportement des tremblements de terre et sur le fonctionnement des produits pendant

40、 les tremblements de terre. Les valeurs numriques proposes sont des valeurs caractristiques et illustratives quil convient de ne pas prendre pour des valeurs normalises. 3.1 Origine et propagation des tremblements de terre Un tremblement de terre se produit lorsque des contraintes se sont accumu- le

41、s tel point quelles provoquent une rupture de lcorce terrestre. Its

43、object is to define some fundamental properties and quantities for characterization of earthquakes as background material for the severities to which products are liable to be exposed during storage and use. Acceler- ations given are for ground surface conditions only. Conditions related to structur

44、es are referred to but restricted to general case descriptions. 2 Normative reference The following standard contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of IEC 721. At the time of publication, the edition indicated was valid. All standards are subjec

45、t to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of IEC 721 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent edition of the standard indicated below. This clause is intended to provide information on ea

47、rthquake behaviour, and on the dynamic performance of products during earthquakes. Numeri- cal values given are typical and illustrative but should not be considered as standard. 3.1 Earthquake origin and propagation An earthquake occurs when stresses have accumulated to such a degree that they caus

48、e the breaking of the earths crust.
