、RNATIONAL ELECTROTECHNICAL COMMISSION _ SPECIFICATION FOR THE TESTING OF BALANCED AND COAXIAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CABLING Part 2: Cords as specified in ISO/IEC 11801 and related standards FOREWORD 1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardizati
、on comprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes Internation
、al Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with may participate in th
、is preparatory work. International, governmental and non- governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this preparation. IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the tw
、o organizations. 2) The formal decisions or agreements of IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an international consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all interested IEC National Committees. 3) IEC Publications have th
、e form of recommendations for international use and are accepted by IEC National Committees in that sense. While all reasonable efforts are made to ensure that the technical content of IEC Publications is accurate, IEC cannot be held responsible for the way in which they are used or for any misinter

Any divergence between any IEC Publication and the corresponding national
、or regional publication shall be clearly indicated in the latter. 5) IEC itself does not provide any attestation of conformity. Independent certification bodies provide conformity assessment services and, in some areas, access to IEC marks of conformity. IEC is not responsible for any services carri

International Standard IEC 61935-2 has been prepared by IEC technical committee 46: Cables, wires, waveguides, R.F. connectors, R.F. and microwave passive components and accessories. This third edition cancels and replaces the second ed

、ing free connectors according to IEC 60603-7 series, IEC 61076-3-104 and IEC 61076-3-110. It is known that connecting hardware performance is subject to influence by the properties of the free connector termination and therefore balanced cords should be tested to determine the quality of the assembl
、y. Moreover, the performance of balanced cords may differ due to the performances of the involved separate components depending upon the efficiency of the manufacturing procedure. Manufacturing procedures also impact upon the reliability of these balanced cords. Therefore, the primary object of this
、 standard is to provide test methods to ensure compatibility of balanced cords to be used in cabling according to ISO/IEC 11801. Another object is to provide test methods and associated requirements to demonstrate the performance and reliability of these balanced cords during their operational lifet
、ime. The test methods described in this standard may also be used for any balanced cords that include twisted pairs terminated at each end. 61935-2 IEC:2010 7 SPECIFICATION FOR THE TESTING OF BALANCED AND COAXIAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CABLING Part 2: Cords as specified in ISO/IEC 11801 and related
、standards 1 Scope This International Standard provides methods to ensure compatibility of balanced cords to be used in cabling according to ISO/IEC 11801 and provides test methods and associated requirements to demonstrate the performance and reliability of these balanced cords during their operatio

This International Standard may also be used for providing test methods for assessing the behaviour of other balanced cords. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
